LEGO Dimensions Coming to San Diego Comic Con 2015

LEGO Dimensions SDCC

LEGO Dimensions has just announced that the upcoming video game will be at San Diego Comic Con next week. You can play it hands-on at the Hard Rock Hotel in the Legends Ballrooms 1 & 2 from Thursday-Saturday from 3pm-7pm and on Sunday 10am-2pm. There are also limited edition LEGO Dimensions prints featuring Portal and Doctor Who when you try out the game. This also confirms that this will be the first time that we’ll be seeing gameplay of the Doctor Who Level Pack (71204).

In addition, there will be custom LEGO art by Nathan Sawaya displayed and you can take pictures with a life-size LEGO Scooby and Gandalf. You will be able to pre-order any LEGO Dimensions products and you can get an exclusive t-shirt, while supplies last.

If you’re attending SDCC, add on another event to attend to the large list of LEGO-related events that will be taking place throughout the convention.

New LEGO Attraction Coming to WWT Slimbridge Wetland Centre

This is more geared towards the folks across the pond but Penny from the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT) has sent over press release regarding their new LEGO attraction at the WWT Slimbridge Wetland Centre. You can read more about the event below.

Amazing giant LEGO® brick animals will bring families closer to nature this summer at WWT Slimbridge

This summer the world’s most popular toy will bring families closer to nature at WWT Slimbridge Wetland Centre.

Giant LEGO brick sculptures will be at the attraction in Gloucestershire for eight weeks this summer from July 18 to September 6, alongside their living counterparts.

Visitors will be able to enjoy the trail of 10 individually-designed 4ft (1.5m) LEGO characters inspired by real species at WWT Slimbridge. Included are a large North American River Otter, an Andean Flamingo and a Bewick’s Swan.

Bristol designer Tom Poulsom with the team at Bright Bricks is busy creating the figures from the feet (or paws!) up.

Gary Haseley-Nejrup, Slimbridge General Manager, said:

“We are very excited to welcome this new species to WWT Slimbridge for the
summer. The first completed characters look fantastic, we can’t wait for them to be out in the wetlands surrounded by wildlife and think our visitors will be bowled over by them.

Families love being around nature at WWT Slimbridge and the LEGO brick trail is a fun way of putting the spotlight on some really important species, many of which are endangered.”

As well as the trail there will be a large LEGO brick play

LEGO SDCC 2015 Exclusives Schedule

SDCC 2015 LEGO Star Wars Dagobah Mini-Build

If you’re attending San Diego Comic Con next week and want to get in on the LEGO exclusives, FBTB has given some more details about the drawings, more specifically the days in which the exclusives are sold. We already knew that there will be drawings for the three exclusive sets but we now know that you can’t purchase all of them in one day like previous years.

For this year, each set will only be available a particular day so if you want to get all three sets, you’ll have to stand in line each day to enter the raffles. Sunday is a wildcard day as they will be doing a drawing for all tickets that haven’t been redeemed from Thursday to Saturday. If you were hoping to get the LEGO exclusives on Preview Night, you’re out of luck because nothing will be sold or given away on that day.

Thursday: LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Action Comics #1 Superman™
Friday: LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Throne of Ultron™
Saturday: LEGO Star Wars™ Dagobah™ Mini-Build
Sunday: There will be a drawing for tickets that have not been redeemed on this day

Nothing will be sold or given away on Wednesday, Preview Night.

First Official Look at LEGO Angry Birds

LEGO Angry Birds

Last month, it was announced that The LEGO Group would be producing official LEGO Angry Birds sets that will be coming out in 2016 in conjunction with the upcoming Angry Birds movie. Today on Kotaku, we have the first image of what one of the characters would look like. As you can see from the image above, it is Jason Sudeikis’ Red in LEGO minifigure form. LEGO Angry Birds will also be displayed at San Diego Comic Con next week so we can expect to get a better look at what LEGO has planned during the convention.
