Another Wave of LEGO The Simpsons Minifigures Coming in 2015?

LEGO The Simpsons Series Collectible Minifigures (71005)

Okay this is some very unexpected news but CM4Sci over at Eurobricks has reported there will be another wave of LEGO The Simpsons Minifigures (71009) coming out in 2015! This piece of news comes from someone named David Thomsen who was the same person that revealed the list of the 2015 LEGO Pirates sets. The price given is 4.99 NZD but will probably stay at $3.99 for us here in the States. So who is excited for another wave of Simpsons minifigures and which characters would you like to see in this wave?

**Note: The above image is NOT the new one that are coming out next year. Those are the ones that are still currently in stores.**

First Image of LEGO Star Wars Rebels Inquisitor Minifigure

Jedi News has posted in image of what appears to be the Inquisitor minifigure from the new LEGO Star Wars Rebels line. The trailer scene appeared on Disney XD showing the Inquisitor along with a few Stormtroopers escorting Ezra Bridger somewhere.

A few weeks ago, we reported on a rumored list of LEGO Star Wars 2015 sets and there will be a number of Star Wars Rebels sets in the wave. The Inquisitor minifigure will most likely be in one of these sets and my guess would be the Imperial Troop Transport (75078).

Check out the comparison of the minifigure and the animated version below to see the similarities between them. More details of the 2015 LEGO Star Wars sets as they become available.

LEGO Seasonal Halloween Bat (40090) Revealed

LEGO Seasonal Halloween Bat (40090)

The holiday season is just around the corner and images of the new LEGO Seasonal sets have started to surface. Brickset has revealed the Halloween Bat (40090) which have been reported to be showing up at various LEGO Brand Stores. It contains 156 pieces and most likely will probably retail for $9.99. In the instructions booklet for the Halloween Bat shows another Seasonal set which is the Thanksgiving Turkey (40091). Both sets are similiar to the Seasonal sets that we’ve gotten earlier this year including the Valentine’s Day Teddy Bear (40085) and the Easter Bunny (40086).

LEGO Pirates 2015 Set List

Back in April, we reported that there will probably be a LEGO Pirates theme coming in 2015. The information came from ReBrick where they held a “Name That Ship” contest to name one of the new pirate ships.

New information coming out of Eurobricks from David Thomsen is a list of the new LEGO Pirates sets which also includes the winner of the naming contest, The Brick Bounty. He also mentions that the release date for the sets is April 2015 although that could change. There may also be some store exclusive sets that aren’t listed as well. The pricing is in New Zealand Dollars but they’ve been converted to US Dollars to give you an estimate of what they could go for.

Shipwreck Defense (70409) – 17.99 NZD/$12 USD
Soldiers’ Outpost (70410) – 39.99 NZD/$20 USD

The Art of LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 Programming Press Release

Earlier today, No Starch Press sent us a press release for The Art of LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 Programming. You can also pre-order the book on Amazon. Check out the press release below:

The Art of LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 Programming—New from No Starch Press

New book unlocks the power of the LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 programming language

San Francisco, CA, August 26, 2014—The LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 system makes it easy for anyone to build and control robots. LEGO’s block-based and colorful EV3 programming language is great for first-timers, but it has more powerful features than its user-friendly interface might suggest.

In the upcoming book The Art of LEGO® MINDSTORMS® EV3 Programming (No Starch Press, $34.95, 276 pp., Sept 2014, ISBN 9781593275686), software engineer Terry Griffin offers a beginner-friendly, in-depth guide to the EV3 language. An update to Griffin’s highly regarded Art of LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT-G Programming, this new book teaches readers the basic building blocks and then launches into more sophisticated programs. Readers begin by writing functions that control their robots’ movement, sensors, and sounds and then move on to programming more complex behaviors that allow their robots to follow lines, detect objects, and navigate mazes.
According to No Starch Press founder Bill Pollock, “The EV3 programming language is remarkably approachable but also surprisingly deep. Griffin’s new book will show any serious EV3 programmer how to unlock the real power of EV3. Competitive MINDSTORMERs will love this book.”

In The Art of LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 Programming, readers learn how to:

  • Make robots react to different environments

The LEGO Movie HISHE Alternate Ending

Back in May, there was a video by How It Should Have Ended (HISHE) in collaboration with Brotherhood Workshop which featured The LEGO Movie. They have done another video for The LEGO Movie which shows an alternate ending to what happened to President/Lord Business after Emmet and the other Master Builders saved the day. Again, it’s pretty funny to see what Brotherhood Workshop has put together. Check out the video below.
