LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham Release Date Announced

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham Box Art

LEGO Batman’s Facebook Page has just announced that the LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham video game has a release date of November 11 in North America and November 14 worldwide. They have also released the official image of the box art for the game. Keep up with our coverage of the game in our previous posts here. Also remember, there is still time to pre-order the game and in my opinion, GameStop has the best exclusive which nets you the Plastic Man minifigure.

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham - Plastic Man Exclusive Minifigure

LEGO The Hobbit The Battle of Five Armies (79017) Set Details

I’ve gotten a few emails from readers informing me that some images of the new LEGO The Hobbit The Battle of Five Armies (79017) have surfaced. I have seen the images and the reason why I didn’t post them is because there’s an embargo on the images of the sets until October but if you search around some LEGO forums, you can probably find the images yourselves. That doesn’t stop me from describing them though.

The set is pretty much a small bridge with a tower being attacked by a ballista that shoots two projectiles. The minifigures that are included are Thorin Oakenshiled, Legolas Greenleaf, Dain Ironfoot, Bard the Bowman, Azog, and two Gundabad Orcs. The eagle that is also in the set is Gwaihir. Also as mentioned before, the Bard minifigure is the same one from San Diego Comic Con. Probably the best part of the set is the Thorin minifigure with his new torso printing, helmet/hair piece, and gold sword.

As mentioned before in a previous post, The Battle of Five Armies (79017) contains 472 pieces and will retail for about $59.99.

Other things that are seen in the images are the minifigures from the other sets in the wave.

Some LEGO Star Wars 2015 Set Details

Hulk_Smash on over Eurobricks has given details on some of the new 2015 LEGO Star Wars sets that we reported on last week. The details are fairly vague due to the person describing the sets from memory. Again, the details are from prelimary pictures from a retailer catalog.

Imperial Troop Transport (75078) – Similar to the Imperial Landing Craft (7659) from 2007. There are four Stormtroopers.

Shadow Troopers (75079) – Includes a small vehicle. Battle pack includes two Dark Guards which I assume could be the Emperor’s Shadow Guards and two Shadow Troopers.

AAT (75080) – Jar Jar Binks makes his return in a LEGO Star Wars set. There will also be another Gungan minifigure. No mentioning if it’s just a generic Gungan or a major character like Boss Nass or Captain Roos Tarpals. The set also has a Battle Droid. Retail price is about £25.

T-16 Skyhopper (75081) – Comes with some sort of pilot minifigure, a Tusken Raider, and a womp rat.

Geonosis Troopers (75089) – Includes a small AT-RT. Clone Troopers are the same as the Kashyyyk Troopers (75035), but with a sandy brown color.

The LEGO Super Friends Project by Jon Lazar

The LEGO Super Friends Project Completed

There are many people in the LEGO community who do custom minifigures and accessories. What I haven’t seen before (as of this writing) are custom mini-dolls from the LEGO Friends line but Jon Lazar has changed that. What he has done is he has created Super Hero/Villain characters using the mini-dolls from the Friends line and has dubbed them The LEGO Super Friends Project.

During the month of July, he has created an unique character each day and as a result, there are a total of 31 heroes and villains that resemble their comic book counterparts remarkably well. I especially like some of the X-Men characters like Rogue, Psylocke, and Jubilee. If you want to purchase some of them, Jon does have some of them on Etsy or you can commission him to do some. Check out the images of the characters below.

LEGO Jurassic World Sets Confirmed

Earlier this month, we reported that there may be some LEGO Jurassic World sets coming out in 2015. This was from an interview that Chris Pratt did with The Empire Film Podcast in which he mentioned that he has seen the look of his character, Owen, in minifigure form.

Hulk_Smash on Eurobricks has seen some preliminary images of some of the 2015 LEGO sets and in those images, there will indeed be some LEGO Jurassic World sets. They did not mention how many sets will be in the wave or the details of them but at least there is now confirmation that there will be some sets in conjunction with the upcoming movie.

For those who will mention that Hasbro/KRE-O has the licence to produce building sets, it has also been reported that their license has expired or will be expiring soon.
