LEGO Doc Brown’s GMC Value Van By Team BTTF

Last month, Masashi Togami revealed that he and Team BTTF will be releasing more Back to the Future related sets to be added to LEGO CUUSOO in the next few months. Today, Sakuretsu has posted a few preliminary images of Doc Brown’s GMC Value Van. It is the white van that is used to transport the DeLorean Time Machine at the Twin Pines Mall. On the side of the van, it has the wording “DR. E. BROWN ENTERPRISES — 24 HR. SCIENTIFIC SERVICES. The images also show a smaller DeLorean that is able to fit inside the van. Some other things that are shown in the images are Marty and Doc in their radiation suits with Einstein. Marty is holding the video camera that was used to record Doc’s experiment of the temporal displacement. Doc is seen holding plutonium that he took from the Libyan nationalists. Just from seeing the images, I feel that this will be a popular project on CUUSOO when it is submitted later this month.

2013 San Diego Comic Con LEGO Super Heroes Minifigures Sold For $4000

The news for the 2013 San Diego Comic Con LEGO Super Heroes minifigures doesn’t end even after a month of the end of the event. You may remember that there was some controversy a week back about some of the attendees who insisted that the giveaway was rigged. Well, that didn’t stop a seller by the name of cohens714 on eBay of getting a hold of all four minifigures and having an auction for them and it was sold for $3999.00. What’s interesting is that the seller has relisted a similar auction going with a starting bid of $2999.00. This is somewhat suspicious because either he didn’t really “sell” the minifigures for $4000 and made a fake account to “buy” it out or he has multiples of each of the Super Heroes minifigures. If he does have multiples of the them, how did he get that many? What do you think actually happened and would you put down $4000 to buy these minifigures?

LEGO Legends of Chima Online Open Beta

The LEGO Legends of Chima Online game has hit the beta stage and you can sign up to play today. It is free-to-play so you don’t have to worry about spending money to play it at this point. LEGO Legends of Chima Online starts off very similar to your standard online games where you create your character to your liking. After that you get a short tutorial of how to play the game. You’ll be encountering enemies that you fight to get better equipment to upgrade your character. You can either play alone or team up with other players to take down harder enemies. Like many other MMO games out there, you have the ability to add or remove people from your friends list. Another element to the game is that you collect LEGO bricks and studs to create different buildings. The reason for this is that certain buildings allow you to craft better weapons and armors while other buildings you use to boost your skills.

While the game is technically free-to-play, there are also membership plans you can purchase for better gameplay. Benefits of the memberships include: bigger inventory space, additional power slots, trading more items, extra outpost expansions, exclusive items, exclusive buildings, the ability to upgrade buildings to level 5, and Gold Bricks. Gold Bricks are an in-game currency that you can use to purchase a variety of premium in-game items.

Adventure Time Opening Sequence Made With LEGO Bricks

To commemorate Geek Week on YouTube, the Cartoon Network has released the opening sequence of Adventure Time made out of LEGO bricks. There are no credits for the animators of the video but I’ve reached out to Cartoon Network to see if they could tell us who they were. Now if we can just get them to do a full episode with animated LEGO bricks. I posted the video on our Facebook Page early this morning but I think this deserves it’s own post here.

If you’re not familiar of what Adventure Time is, the show takes you through the adventures of a human named Finn and his adoptive brother and best friend named Jake who is a dog and has magic powers to change in size. Through their adventures, they meet other characters in the show including Princess Bubblegum, the Ice King, and Marceline the Vampire Queen. Also, two more words: Bacon Pancakes. You’re welcome.

What Does Michael J. Fox Think of The LEGO BTTF DeLorean Time Machine (21103)?

LEGO CUUSOO Back to the Future Time Machine (21103)

It seems that Marty McFly himself has gotten a hold of a LEGO Back to the Future DeLorean Time Machine (21103) set. So what does he think about the set? Michael J. Fox this morning tweeted just one word about it: “Bitchin'”. That pretty much sums his thoughts of himself being immortalized as a LEGO minifigure and the DeLorean being created out of LEGO bricks.

You may or may not know this but every LEGO Back to the Future DeLorean set you purchase, the creator of the set, Masashi Togami, gets 1% of the royalties from the sales of these particular sets. Being the very generous man that he is, Masashi and Team BTTF will be donating all the proceeds that he gets to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Michael has been battling the disease since 1991 and has retired from acting to turn his energy and focus to his foundation. With the proceeds of the LEGO sets going towards helping his work, we’re that much closer to finding a cure of this horrible disease.
