Iron Man 3 Suits Revealed

Technically, this isn’t LEGO related but there are Iron Man 3icon sets so I guess it’s relevant. Over on the official Iron Man Facebook Page, they have revealed the new suits that will be in the Iron Man 3 movie. You might recognize the Heartbreaker suit from the Iron Man vs The Mandarin: Ultimate Showdown (76008)icon set. The Sub Orbital Suit was also seen before in LEGO form last week in a custom creation by Tuminio. Which suit(s) would you like to see in an official LEGO minifigure?

Mark 33 – Enhanced Energy Suit – “Silver Centurion”

Mark 35 – Disaster Rescue Suit – “Red Snapper”

Mark 38 – Heavy Lifting Suit – “Igor”

Mark 39 – Sub Orbital Suit – “Gemini”

Mark 40 – Hyper Velocity Suit – “Shotgun”

BrickPicker Introduces Brick Classifieds

Have you been trying to sell your LEGO sets online but feeling the pain of the high fees involved in selling them? These expensive fees from different online marketplaces such as eBay and Amazon take away from the profits that should really be in your pockets. BrickPicker might have the solution for you. Today, the guys over there introduced Brick Classifieds, a system that could help revolutionize how people buy and sell LEGO online.

First of all, you are able to advertise your listings for on the site itself. This allows other members to easily find what they are looking for without having to go to another website. The main reason and might be the biggest reason to use Brick Classifieds is that there are no expensive fees involved. This low cost fee (usually a dollar or less) allows you to sell your sets for a fraction of what the other marketplaces, such as eBay or Amazon, charge. But wait there’s more! With this system, there are no expensive commissions after you make the sale. In addition, there are also some other benefits with the system including shipping calculators and a feedback system to rate your transactions.

Although the Brick Classifieds system isn’t a direct competition to eBay or Amazon, it is another avenue that users can take to sell their LEGO products online. Check out the video below that Ed and Jeff have created to learn more about Brick Classifieds or read more about it on their forum.

LEGO The Lone Ranger Sets on Walmart’s Website

Brickset is reporting that the LEGO The Lone Ranger sets are now listed at Walmart. All the sets are already on Walmart’s websiteicon and are available to order a little early. I’ve tested the shipping options to California and if you order today, you can expect the sets to arrive on April 4th with standard shipping, April 1st with expedited shipping, and March 28th with rush shipping. You can also have in store pickup as soon as April 2nd. Arrival dates may change depending on where your locations are.

**Update: Walmart has left the pages for the sets up but has taken off the purchase button. They’ve probably realized their mistake of selling the sets early to the public.**

LEGO Sets Returning From Space

According to collectSPACE, there will be 13 LEGO sets that will be returning to Earth from the International Space Station. For the past two years, the sets have been aboard the SpaceX’s Dragon but will be returning to Earth tomorrow and will be landing somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. NASA had an educational partnership with The LEGO Group to teach kids about space using the buildable bricks. The crew from the space shuttle Endeavour showed students on video how they built various sets under the effects of weightlessness and the video was then beamed back down to students back on Earth so students can learn how to build their own.

As you may have heard, there were spending cuts here in the US and unfortunately NASA was a casualty of those cuts. The spending cuts has suspended most educational and public activities which is a bummer because it seemed that the NASA/LEGO partnership was very successful. However, the end of the partnership wasn’t due to the spending cuts but just a coincidence.

When the sets are back on Earth, some be returned to LEGO’s possession and others will displayed at NASA’s Johnson Space Center for further educational purposes. Although the partnership is over for now, Leland Melvin, NASA’s Associate Administrator for Education, notes that NASA might be using the new LEGO Mindstorms EV3 in the near future and sending it up to the space station too. I’m curious to see what NASA can do with the EV3 in their hands.

On Wednesday, March 27th at 7/6c, the LEGO Legends of Chima animated series makes it long awaited return to Cartoon Network after a two month hiatus. If you haven’t seen the first two episodes, Cartoon Network will be airing them as well as a brand new episode in a special 90-minute back-to-back event. We’ve been waiting for the return of Chima ever since we’ve watched and gave our impressions on the first episodes back in January. Will you be watching the new Chima episode on Wednesday?
