LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 9 Alien Trooper?

Could this be an image of the new Alien Trooper from LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 9? A YouTube user by the name of BRICKSHOWISCOOL has gotten his hands on a mysterious minifigure but didn’t say where he got it from. **Update: The user states in the video comments that his friend’s aunt works at LEGO.** The minifigure has light green skin tone and some nice front printing on the torso with the word “SHAMI.” It also has a gray armor and helmet as well as a “black Aliens Conquest pistol” as stated by the user. LEGO The Hobbit Escape from Mirkwood Spiders (79001) Designer Video

For a double whammy this week, LEGO has revealed the designer video for the LEGO The Hobbit Escape from Mirkwood Spiders (79001) which has shown up on their minisite along with the Barrel Escape video yesterday. Jordan Scott describes the second Hobbit Trilogy Special Preview Set in more detail along with the minifigures included: Fili the Dwarf, Kili the Dwarf, Legolas Greenleaf and Tauriel. The spiders are similar to the Shelob Attacks set but smaller. There are also a new net pieces that act as spider cocoons that capture the Fili and Kili.

Follow Fili the Dwarf and Kili the Dwarf deep into the dark and scary Mirkwood™ Forest on The Quest for The Lonely Mountain. Attack the heroes with 3 small spiders and 2 giant spiders with glow-in-the-dark eyes and trap them inside cocoon elements high up in the buildable tree. LEGO Lord of the Rings Video Game Wal-Mart Exclusive

As we get closer to the release of the LEGO Lord of the Rings Video Game, there are many deals popping up from different retailers. Wal-Mart is offering a Blu-Ray copy of the Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring when you purchase the game on the PS3, Xbox 360, or the Nintendo Wii.

When you preorder the game on Amazon.com for the PS3 or Xbox 360, you will get exclusive Middle Earth characters for the game as well as a $10 promotional credit for anything purchased on Amazon. The game is expected to be released November 13.

LEGO Lord of the Rings Video Game Exclusive Content

On the polybag of the exclusive Elrond minifigure, there will be a code for exclusive content on the LEGO The Lord of the Rings video game minisite. Lord of the Brick has provided a code that you can use to see a LEGO Designer Video for the Elrond minifigure as well as a wallpaper of the Balrog which could be the brick-build version from the rumored Bridge of Khazad Dum (790xx) set for next year. To see the designer video, enter the code A9FB4Q here and there will be a small popup of the video. To get the wallpaper, enter the same code here to get a popup of different sized wallpapers of the Balrog from the Lord of the Rings video game.

LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 9 Dr. Splitz Preview

Last week, we did a post about of what we believe is the lineup for the LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 9. Today, a user my the name of noriart posted the image above from the Polish LEGO Club Magazine of what appears to be the Dr. Splitz minifigure, aka Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, holding a purple colored potion/serum. Below is the rumored list of minifigures that are expected to be released in January 2013.

LEGO The Hobbit Barrel Escape (79004) Designer Video

For this week, the designer video for the LEGO The Hobbit Barrel Escape (79004) has been released on their YouTube channel. Bjarke Lykke Madsen, senior designer for LEGO, describes the set and play features in more detail as well as the minifigures included in the set: Bilbo Baggins, Oin, Gloin, and two Mirkwood Elves (cellar chief and Elvan guard). All of the minifigures are exclusive to the set except for Bilbo. The Barrel Escape is one of the two Hobbit Trilogy Special Preview Sets with the other being Escape from Mirkwood Spiders (79001). More details of the set will be revealed on November 12 on The Hobbit minisite.

**Note** The minisite has been updated with the reveal of the Escape from Mirkwood Spiders set but the video of the Barrel Escape came out today, which is a little odd.

LEGO Club Magazine November-December 2012 Sneak Peeks

I’ve just received my copy of the LEGO Club Magazine for November-December 2012 and there are a few images that are worth noting. We’ve already seen an image of the new Galaxy Squad theme in the magazine but there are other teaser images for other themes coming out in 2013.

“The Yoda Chronicles – Secrets to tell, I have…” Yoda will be featured on the boxart for the LEGO Star Wars 2013 sets and apparently, he has many things to reveal, maybe in a new animated series?

“LEGO City Elite Police” – Chase McCain is featured on the teaser image. There are plenty of new LEGO City sets to add to your city including the Police Chase (60007) which has the exclusive Chase McCain minifigure.

The new LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme is expected to roll out in January 2013 and is based on the animated series on Nickelodeon. You can see images of The Shellriser Street Chase and other sets in my older posts.

As Ninjago closes out in 2013, the highly anticipated Legends of Chima will be replacing it with a new animated series on the Cartoon Network and some impressive sets. The back pages of the LEGO Club Magazine features who appears to be Leonidas and the lion faction fighting against Cragger and the crocodile faction. There’s still no details of the sets yet but expect them to be showing up as we get closer to 2013.
