LEGO Fortnite Llama (5008257) Revealed in Product Certification?

Ever since LEGO announced they have entered into a partnership with Epic Games, fans have wondered if we would ever be getting any LEGO Fortnite sets and it looks like we may be getting something in the near future. Over on the LEGO Certification page, there’s an entry for set number 5008257 which is for a Llama. If you’ve played Fortnite before, it does have a very similar look to the Supply Llama that spawns at random locations on the map. It looks small enough to assume that it could be either a polybag or a Make & Take set. There’s no word yet on when it will be released.

LEGO Animal Crossing Theme Officially Announced

The rumors have been confirmed as LEGO has officially announced the LEGO Animal Crossing theme on social media. The theme is based on the highly popular Nintendo game which originally came out in 2001. The sets are slated to be released in 2024 as reported by the set names that were revealed last week but we only had the set numbers for them.

In the teaser you can see that the characters will be minifigures which include Rosie, Bunnie, Marshall, Kappa, Fauna, Julian, Isabelle, and Tom Nook. The minifigures do give off FABULAND vibes, don’t they, with their big anthropomorphic heads.

LEGO Discontinues Employee Minifigure Business Cards

If you’ve been to past LEGO events and conventions and there are LEGO employees attending, there’s times where they could hand out minifigures representing their business cards. The minifigure would resemble the employee in some ways and would also have their names on it. Since these are fairly rare, and do fetch a premium on the secondary market.

Today LEGO has announced that they will be discontinuing this tradition and will only be for the owner family and their Executive Leadership Team. There’s no official reasoning given in the statement but there’s a chance that LEGO could bring it back for other LEGO employees and departments, although there’s no guarantees yet at this point. I was fortunate to get one from a former employee many years ago and I’ll keep it stashed away in my vault.

We recognize the culture of trading amongst fans and trading minifigures with employees. We recently made the change that employee minifigure business cards will be for the active owner family and ELT. We could see a new culture develop for other LEGO employees and departments but with this change just happening, we don’t know what the future holds.
