LEGO SDCC 2022 Behind the Bricks with LEGO Entertainment Panel Recap

LEGO SDCC 2022 Behind the Bricks with LEGO Entertainment

I’m back from LEGO Entertainment panel at San Diego Comic Con 2022 which included various shows like Ninjago, Star Wars, City, Monkey Kid, Friends as well as LEGO Masters. The main thing that took the most time was for LEGO Ninjago and what happens in the second half of Crystalized and comes after that. We can confirm that Crystalized will be returning in October on Netflix. There’s no mentioning of it showing on any other platform. Dareth will be showing up again and Harumi will be featured more and will have a big impact for the Crystalized ending.

The other big new is that LEGO Ninjago will not be ending this year but will be back with a new series in 2023. There was absolutely no details about the show except that it is not a reboot. Writer, Chris “Doc” Wyatt tried to give us some details but had the microphone taken away by Asa Tait. The only information that was given about the 2023 Ninjago series is that it is all new and all different in exciting ways. They said to use your imagination on what that could be. We’ll probably get snippets of it this winter when the 2023 LEGO sets are revealed.

For the other part of the panel, we had some LEGO Star Wars shorts which featured Obi-Wan Kenobi dueling Darth Vader in the desert and Grogu building sandcastles. They were pretty funny.

What Could We See for LEGO in Marvel Studios’ The Multiverse Saga

Yesterday and today, Marvel at San Diego Comic Con 2022 has revealed their plans on the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well as some animated shows for Disney+. This means that we could be seeing a lot of LEGO Marvel sets that are tied into these properties in the next few years and lots more new LEGO minifigures of various characters.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be closing out Phase Four this November and we already know there will be some LEGO sets based on soe scenes from the movie.

First off for the animated shows, Spider-Man: Freshman Year will take us though high school and some of the villains will include Dr. Octavius, Chameleon, Speed Demon, Scorpion, and Butane the Pyromaniac. Harry Osborn and Amadeus Cho will also be in the series.

What If… Season 2 will have new scenarios of characters in other situations. It has been reported that some of the heroes and villains include Captain Carter, Steve Rogers as Iron Man, Black Widow, Thor Ragnarok’s Hela, Young Star-Lord and Ego, The Scarlet Witch, and Mandarin.

Lastly, we have X-Men ’97 which is a continuation of my favorite cartoon, X-Men the Animated Series. The new series will have most of the original characters like Rogue, Beast, Gambit, Jean Grey, Wolverine, Storm, Jubilee, and Cyclops but are now lead by Magneto. Other characters that will also be in the show are Cable, Bishop, Forge, Morph, Nightcrawler, Mr. Sinister, Bolivar Trask and the Hellfire Club with Emma Frost and Sebastian Shaw. As you … Continue

LEGO Minifigure Factory Now Live in US

The LEGO Minifigure Factory is now live on LEGO.com where you can customize your minifigures and have it shipped to you. It costs $11.99 and since it’s still in beta, you can only buy one per household at this time.

It’s actually very customizable as you can design every part of the minifigure. The head and legs have limited designs but the torso has a wide range of customization from where to put the design and wording. $12 for only one minifigures is pretty steep but you get to design it to your liking to an extent. I would suggest waiting for more options to open up before you commit to making one but there’s no word when they will start expanding.

LEGO San Diego Comic Con 2022 Day 1 Recap

LEGO SDCC 2022

Day 1 of San Diego Comic Con 2022 is in the books and here’s what went on for LEGO on the first day and it wasn’t much. The first thing that everybody has been asking for were the LEGO exclusives. I can confirm along with others that there will be no exclusives this year which was said from a few LEGO people at the booth and it looks like LEGO will be done with SDCC exclusives forever, from what I’ve been told by a source. I’ll just leave it at that and if some info comes out, I’ll report it but for now, that’s all that I will say.

The booth is still in the same spot as usual but there’s much more open area. Instead of play bricks, fans can play the Brick Catcher touch screen game to win a small retail set. From what I saw, the prizes are the small Classic sets like the Creative White Bricks (11012). I could’ve went in to try but waiting 15-20 minutes for a $5 set wasn’t worth my time.

The other side of the booth was the retail shop. You couldn’t really go in to buy but you got a menu sheet to choose what you wanted and they would bring it out from the back. There were some LEGO sets that were on display but nothing new that we haven’t seen before. I’m surpised there weren’t more reveals.

Update: I’ve been told that there were two GWPs, Electro (5002125) polybag with $70 purchase and … Continue
