Today is LEGO Build Day which is essentially a day where you can build anything you want. Whether it is a brand new set that you got from Christmas or something original from a pile of random bricks, today is just a day to have fun with LEGO. Use the hashtag #LEGOBuildDay on either Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter to show off what you created.
The Three Investigators – The Headquarters by Valkon is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The build is based on the Robert Arthur, Jr. book series in the 1960s which is still an ongoing series with the German version.
The project now joins Land Ahoy, Terrariums, Great Coral Reef, Hyrule Castle 30th Anniversary, Avatar: The Last Airbender – The Avatar Returns, Clockwork Solar System, The Dojo, Hocus Pocus – The Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage, Naruto: Ichiraku Ramen Shop, Motorized Johnny 5, James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), The LEGO Emergency Box, LEGO Rubik’s Cube (Working), and Brooklyn Nine-Nine: 99th Precinct, Steampunk Explorers, Moominhouse ムーミン屋敷, Castle Outpost, Downtown Records, The Meeting Point, LEGO Ghibli, Baba Yaga, Soyuz Rocket, Orchid, Pirate Tavern, Riverside Scholars, Union Pacific “Big Boy”, Magic Bookends, Stargate, McDonald’s Franchise 1955-1969, and Asterix the Gaul as the ones to reach the Third 2021 Review Stage.
Making a return in 2022 for the LEGO Marvel theme are the buildable character sets and the first one is the Iron Man Figure (76206). Unlike the buildable characters from years past with the cartoony looks, these sets are more screen accurate. Releasing on January 1, the set has 381 pieces and will retail for $39.99. Let’s see if the set is worth that price point.
Now that Christmas is over, there aren’t that many deals now but Zavvi has put the LEGO Batman Batmobile Tumbler (76240) back on sale. For those who are are in Europe and in China and Asia Pacific markets, the 2022 LEGO Chinese Traditional Festival sets are now available for purchase on the LEGO Shop. You can now get the Lunar New Year Traditions (80108) and Lunar New Year Ice Festival (80109) which celebrates the Year of the Tiger. This release is few weeks ahead of North America which releases on January 10.
