Reminder: BrickLink Designer Program Round 2 Pre-Orders Start Tomorrow

This is your last reminder that pre-orders for Round 2 of the BrickLink Designer Program will be starting tomorrow at 12pm Pacific. The main change for this round is Brickwest Studios has been moved to Round 3 and has been replaced by Venetian Houses. The first five projects with 3,000 pre-orders will be produced with a maximum of 10,000 sets made. They are on a first-come basis so once they’re sold out, that’s it.

LEGO Seasonal Santa’s Front Yard (40484) Revealed

The Australian LEGO Shop has revealed the LEGO Seasonal Santa’s Front Yard (40484) which could be an upcoming gift-with-purchase set. There’s no details on how to obtain it but we do know that it has 317 pieces. Initial thoughts of it is that it could be one of the gifts for this year’s Black Friday shopping event but we’ll confirm when LEGO Reveals those details on November 15.

Celebrate the winter season with the LEGO® building kit Santa’s Front Yard (40484). It’s an icy, moonlit night in Santa’s front yard, where an attentive elf is feeding a cute reindeer by the cold, clear stream with a carrot. This delightful scenery includes a snow-covered North Pole shield and trees, as well as a hand lantern for the elf. An inspiring gift for children aged 9 and over and festive building fun for LEGO fans of all ages.

LEGO® Santa’s Front Yard (40484) includes an elven minifigure, a reindeer and an icy, moonlit environment with a stream, snow-covered trees and the North Pole shield, as well as a hand lantern and a carrot element.

LEGO Reveals New Sets and Partnerships at China International Import Expo

This past weekend, LEGO revealed some new sets at the China International Import Expo which included lines from Monkie Kid, Super Mario, and Chinese Traditional Festival. The Monkie Kid Galactic Explorer and the Lunar New Year sets will be available in China and Asia Pacific markets on December 25 while the Super Mario sets will be available on January 18, 2022. Unfortunately, it did not mention when these sets will be available for the rest of the world except that the Super Mario ones will be in early 2022.

In addition, LEGO has announced a new partnership with Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden to inspire and engage children in sustainability. Furthermore, the company has also signed an agreement with the China Association of the Blind and China Braille Press to launch the LEGO Braille Bricks program in China.

The LEGO Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block (71395) has been out for a month now but LEGO has just released the designer video for the set. LEGO designers Carl Merriam, Daire McCabe, and Benjamin Ma, and graphic designer Anthony Palamaro talk about the many details that go into the set including the digital side of it which connects to Super Mario Starter Course (71360). They also mention some Easter eggs that you can find throughout the set which they won’t reveal in the video.

They are selling it for $4.99 each but since it is a small item, you’ll need to make a $35 purchase to get it. Luckily, they also have another promotion going on where you can get a $10 Target gift card when you spend $50 on select LEGO sets. Of course, you can just pay $4.99 if you can find it in stores.
