There’s a new rumor about the next LEGO Ideas set to be released and it is said to be the Home Alone McCallister’s House (21329). Coming from brick_clicker on Instagram, it is said the set will have a late September release with a $100 price point. The original project proposed the maximum of 3,000 pieces and it included a full house but if the price point is true, there was some compromise to keep the price reasonable. It may just end up being a facade of the house with the back open to show the details inside similar to 123 Sesame Street (21324). Again these are only rumors until LEGO officially announces it, whenever that is.

… ContinueLEGO® fans can enjoy

LEGO will be releasing a new LEGO Seasonal set soon with the Halloween Owl (40497). As of this writing, there’s no information yet on the pricing and piece count for it but going by the previous Seasonal sets for 2021, it may be priced at $14.99. If you look closely at the back of the box, it also shows the Christmas Penguin (40498).

Like with the previous sets, it comes with a buildable base which has an Easter egg inside. For the owl, there’s a little bat built in.

At the floor level, there’s a little pumpkin patch with some pretty plump pumpkins made with some modified 1 x 2 x 1 2/3 with studs on the sides. The 1×2 slopes give the shape of the pumpkins.
The owl is built similiarly to the BrickHeadz using some modified 1 x 2 x 1 2/3 bricks so that the outside can have some details. The front of it looks pretty bland with the tan on the chest.

The back has a bit more detail with the claw piece being used as fur on the tail.

The wings are on ball joints so you can show it flapping its wings if you like.

The head has the most details and it shows it with an “angry” face. This is achieved by using some claw toe pieces for the eyebrows and some slopes at the top of the head.

The whole owl is able to spin as it sits on a turntable piece. Be careful of having the wings … Continue

LEGO has revealed a new Seasonal Halloween ornament set with the Spider & Haunted House Pack (40493). The set has 132 pieces but we don’t have details of the price or release date as of this writing.

The spider has a BrickHeadz feel to it with the style it uses to create it. The eyes are huge compared to the body and it gives off a cartoony look. The legs are on hinges so they have some movement to them. There’s a Technic connector at the top to tie the included string on.

The other build is the haunted house which looks to be inspired by the LEGO Monster Fighters Haunted House (10228). It has the sand green color scheme but it also has lots of stickers for the window detailing around the house. Like with the spider, it also has a Technic connnector to tie the string on.

Overall, this is a cute little set and you can use it for Halloween decorations. The bad thing about it is that the amount of stickers on it for such a small set.

Thank you to LEGO for sending in this set for me to review. The content above represents my own opinion and not the company. Review sets sent in does not guarantee a positive review.

It looks like LEGO will be doing another purchase with purchase offer in-stores only for the LEGO Brick Playing Cards (5006906). From July 24-31, you can get it for $9.99 when you purchase $40 or more in qualifying products. The cards are from Chronicle Books and if you buy them by themselves, they cost $15.95. Thanks to Tom for the heads up.
Last year, LEGO announced that the Sailing Ship Adventure by yc_solo won the fan vote for the LEGO Ideas Build that Holiday contest which will become a future gift with purchase set. It is now rumored that the set will be coming out in August and it will be called the Dream Holiday Sailboat (40487).
There are any details of it yet until the August LEGO Store Calendar comes out, most likely next week, but it is said that it will require a 200€ purchase to get it. Hopefully it won’t cost an arm and a leg to get it as LEGO has been getting up there in purchase price requirements for some items.

The LEGO Spring Lantern Festival (80107) is currently on sale over at Walmart for 20% off. It is now priced at $95 which is $25 off the normal retail price of $119.99. The set has been pretty popular but LEGO has enough inventory now to not run out of stock on it and plus, it does have some nice parts in it. Thanks to Thomas for the heads up.
