Super Mario Bros. Animated Film Coming in 2022 – Any LEGO Sets?

During today’s Nintendo Direct, Shigeru Miyamoto talked but the upcoming Super Mario Bros. animated film from Illumination releasing on December 21, 2022. He revealed a star-studded lineup and quite a few of them have had ties to previous LEGO movies.

• Chris Pratt as Mario
• Anna Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach
• Charlie Day as Luigi
• Jack Black as Bowser
• Keegan-Michael Key as Toad
• Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong
• Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong
• Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek
• Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike
• Charles Martinet with surprise cameos

There is a listed of rumored LEGO Super Mario 2022 sets going around online but we’ll have to see if they are related to the movie or more expansion sets. Since the movie doesn’t come out until next holiday season, we probably won’t see any of the movie sets until around summer time, if there are sets for it. It’ll be a great time for minifigure versions of the characters. *Wink, wink. Nudge, nudge*

LEGO Releases Statement Regarding RRP Changes in Western Europe

LEGO has made an official statement regarding reports of LEGO set price increases in Western Europe. LEGO has stated that they have made the recommended retail price more consistent in many countries for 2022 and a majority of the sets will not see price changes. There will be some sets that will have the RRP go up or down depending on the set and country. North America will not see any of these changes.

The LEGO Group has no plans to increase the recommended retail price (RRP) of its portfolio of products.

In Western Europe, we’ve taken steps to make RRP pricing more consistent across different countries from 2022. The RRP of the majority of LEGO sets will not change as a result of this. However, on a small selection of sets the RRP will either go down or up depending on the set and the country.

There are currently no plans to make such changes in other markets.

It’s important to note that the final price charged to shoppers is set by retailers, not the LEGO Group.
