LEGO Ideas Vintage Car (40448) GWP First Look

Late last year, LEGO announced the winner of the LEGO Ideas Vintage Car fan vote in which the winning build would become an official set. Brickset has recently found a Declaration of Conformity for Toys Technical Regulation for the set and we have what appears to be the final box art for the LEGO Ideas Vintage Car (40448).

The winning build was the Aedelsten deluxe by Versteinert and it won the building contest with 1,449 votes, 800 more than the first runner up. As you can see from the images, the final build looks very close to the original submission with some minor differences. The set will be a gift-with-purchase set some time in 2021.

Predicting Future LEGO Sets for Upcoming Marvel/MCU Projects

A few hours ago, Disney held their Investor Day where they showed a lot of upcoming shows from various franchises. The most exciting thing for me was the Marvel Studios part of the event where Kevin Feige talked about some of the projects that will be coming out for Marvel and the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the next few years. Let’s take a look at everything that was shown to see if there’s any potential LEGO sets that could come out of it. Of course, these are only guesses and not guaranteed to be true.

• WandaVision – We probably won’t see anything come out for this.
• The Falcon and the Winter Soldier – It’s possible that there could be a one-off set for it featuring both characters.
• Loki – An interesting show that I have no idea what’s going on and highly unlikely to see any sets.
• What If…? – I can actually see this happening in some form. It’ll be cool to see some of the main Marvel characters in different roles.
• Shang-Chi: The Legend of the Ten Rings – 50% chance we’ll see one set for the movie.
• Ms. Marvel – A good opportunity to introduce the character to a wider audience.
• Captain Marvel 2 – More than likely we’ll see something out of it.
• Hawkeye – The show will be cool but probably no.
• She-Hulk – Like Ms. Marvel, it’ll be cool to see a She-Hulk minifigure.
• Moon Knight – I’d give it … Continue

LEGO Star Wars Death Star II Battle (40407) Promo Available Again on LEGO Shop

LEGO has made the LEGO Star Wars Death Star II Battle (40407) promotion available again with purchases of $75 or more in LEGO Star Wars products. The set has 235 pieces and was available earlier this year during the May the 4th event. Like with last week when the Battle of Endor – 20th Anniversary Edition (40362) was available, there isn’t much left on the LEGO Shop to choose from to get the promo which is pretty unfortunate for people who didn’t get it the first time. The promotion also stacks with the free 2020 LEGO Holiday Gift Set (5006482).

LEGO Batman 1989 Batmobile (76139) Roof Updated

If you purchased the LEGO Batman 1989 Batmobile (76139) early on, the roof on the cockpit used a matte 6×6 tile which also shows a unsightly injection point in the middle. LEGO has recently updated the set quietly on the building instructions and has changed out the part out for three 2×6 tiles (Part 6318582) to give it a sleeker look which is more consistent with the rest of the vehicle.

If you have the set already, you can contact customer service to see if they will be able to offer you the parts. The tile is a new piece for 2020 as it was introduced with the LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System (71374) and the LEGO Ideas 123 Sesame Street (21324). You can also purchase it on Bricks & Pieces for $0.29 each. If you are able to purchase the 1989 Batmobile when it is back in stock, you’ll most likely get the updated parts and instructions.
