Another highly anticipated LEGO Star Wars summer 2020 sets that is available for pre-order on Amazon is the Armored Assault Tank (AAT) 75283. Like with the 501st Legion Clone Troopers (75280), it will ship on August 28 which I guess is when Amazon gets their stock. I’m not sure how much pre-orders they are taking, but I assume it won’t be that many for the initial release. The Ahsoka minifigure is the main highlight here as this is the fourth minifigure of her and the first one since 2016.
There’s a new rumor that’s been floating around for about a week of a new LEGO Creator Landmark set that is said to be coming in November. This set is said to be the Roman Colosseum (10276) and if the rumors are true, it will be the largest set that LEGO has produced coming in at 9,035 pieces.
As we know by now, LEGO loves to throw in teasers here and there including in already released sets. If you seen or have the LEGO Creator Fiat 500 (10271), you’ll notice the painting accessory that comes with the car has the Colosseum in the background. Could LEGO have already been teasing the next Creator landmark set way back in February when the Fiat was announced? We shall see.
Amazon currently has the LEGO Star Wars Tantive IV (75244) in stock at retail price. This set has been out of stock for a bit and is still temporarily out of stock on LEGO Shop@Home. It is one of the more iconic ships in the Star Wars Universe and there hasn’t been many versions of it in LEGO form. The Tantive IV is rumored to be retiring at the end of the year but I haven’t gotten any confirmation on that yet.
Amazon is currently taking pre-orders for the LEGO Star Wars 501st Legion Clone Troopers (75280). The product listing states that it will be released on August 28. The set costs $29.99 and you can order a maximum of 30. This set will be extremely popular when it does release and I expect it to be sold out for a bit. It does have Prime shipping and the money is taken when it ships.
For those who forgot, LEGO has some new sets listed this month for double VIP points. This month is centered towards Marvel as the ones with double points are the new ones that have just been released. First is the Avengers Tower Battle (76166) and you can get 1170 points for it. The other set is the Avengers Wrath of Loki (76152) and you can get 780 points for it.
If you’ve been shopping for the LEGO Powered Up parts, you may have noticed that there were limits of 2 or 3 that you can purchase. This was an issue because more complex builds may need more parts than that. LEGO has listened and they have now increased the Powered Up parts to five. Although there is still the “lifetime purchase limit,” that will be addressed in the future of when you can order them again.

Your voices are heard and we recognize that there are certain items where the need to purchase additional motors or hubs is critical. We are also in a situation where production is limited due to the virus.
There are concerns around increasing the limits on certain products that have long lead times. Powered elements are a very good example of an item with a significant lead time. If we go back to 2016 when 10254 The Holiday Train was released train motors, HUBs and remotes sold out prior to November and were out of stock for over 6 months. This was a very challenging time for everyone as you could not power the train or any other product you just received. Hence the need for limits.

As we know by now, a lot of the August 2020 LEGO releases here in the US were tentatively delayed until September or some time before that. We now know of one set that is set to release a little early at Target and that is the highly popular LEGO Star Wars 501st Legion Clone Troopers (75280). The product listing says it will be available starting on August 14 so set your calendars. I feel this set will be sold out everywhere for a few months as people will want go get multiples to grow their 501st Legion. Thanks to Joshua for the heads up.
