LEGO DC Comics Collectible Minifigures (71026) $3.44 Pricing at Walmart

The LEGO DC Comics Collectible Minifigures (71026) are now available and they are currently priced at $4.99 each on Shop@Home but if you’re looking for them at Walmart, you may find them at a cheaper price. Thanks to Ryan and Andrew who sent images in of the receipts, their Walmart stores are selling them at $3.44 each in Kansas and in New York, respectively. This is even lower than the regular price of $3.99 that we’re used to. I’m not sure if this is a pricing error or a temporary sale but if you’re looking for them, it might be worth it to check your stores.

LEGO January 2020 Double VIP Point Sets

It’s a brand new month and that means that LEGO Shop@Home is offering Double VIP Points on a couple of sets. First is the LEGO City Police Station (60246) where you can get 1,300 points on it. The other set is the LEGO Star Wars Sith TIE Fighter (75272) and you will be able to get 1,040 points for it. Both sets are new for 2020 and it’s a random selection that LEGO chose for the Double VIP Points sets this month.

LEGO Ideas End of 2019 Update

Earlier this week, LEGO updated the LEGO Ideas blog with some updates of what happened in 2019. Last year, they released five new sets as well as a gift with purchase set and also announced four new sets coming this year with Sesame Street 123, International Space Station, Playable LEGO Piano, and The Pirate Bay. To make room for these new sets, LEGO has officially announced that some of the older LEGO Ideas sets are now retired Shop@Home. All of these sets have are now out of stock but Amazon still has them in stock. This is literally your chance to get them and a few of them is still on sale at slight discounts. The sets that are now retired include:

NASA Apollo Saturn V (21309)
Voltron (21311)
Ship in a Bottle (21313)
TRON: Legacy (21314)
Pop Up Book (21315)

LEGO has also hinted there will be an announcement that is planned for early 2020. This could either mean an official review of one of the upcoming sets or an announcement for the winner(s) of the Second 2019 Review Stage.

Last Weekend for LEGO Star Wars Miniland at LEGOLAND California

IMG_8260

Just a heads up if you’re in the southern California area this weekend. Monday is the last day to see the LEGO Star Wars Miniland area at LEGOLAND California so this is the last weekend that they will have it on display.

The 1:20 scale LEGO Star Wars Miniland has been on display at the park for the past eight years and they have been expanding it by adding scenes from the Star Wars Saga with the last one being from The Force Awakens.

There’s no word on what will be replacing LEGO Star Wars Miniland but it will surely be missed as it is one of the more popular attractions at the park. LEGOLAND California curiously has been removing traces of Star Wars with them cancelling Star Wars Days and now this.

LEGO Overwatch Watchpoint Gibraltar (75975) Walmart Sale – January 2020

If you’re still looking to pick up the LEGO Overwatch Watchpoint Gibraltar (75975), Walmart currently has a great deal on it. The set is priced at $62.99 which is 30% off the retail price of $89.99. This is the lowest the set has been priced at on any retailer and it also includes free next day delivery, free 2 day delivery, or free in-store pick up.

I feel the LEGO Overwatch theme is pretty underrated because not many people know about or play the game at all, however, the sets do have some cool builds and minifigures.

LEGO Taiwan Year of the Rat Promotions

The Year of the Rat is coming up in just a few weeks and LEGO Taiwan has put out a pretty interesting advertisement for the holiday. Mainly, they have posted an image showing all the animals on the zodiac. A majority of these minifigures are official minifigures from past LEGO Collectible Minifigures waves while others are mashups or recolors from existing minifigure parts. Some of the parts could be used for future minifigures as well.

Some other promotions LEGO has going on across the Pacific are the little brick-built items that will be given away during specific dates. They all look pretty cool but I do like the vase and the pellet drum.

As for us here in the US, we also have a LEGO Seasonal Year of the Rat promotion on LEGO Shop@Home from January 13-26 with purchases of $80 or more. In addition, there are two Chinese Festival sets that will be releasing on January 10 with the Lion Dance (80104) and Chinese New Year Temple Fair (80105).

Thanks to Shirley for the link.

LEGO Minifigure Trading Rumored to be Ending at LEGOLAND California

LEGOLAND California Star Wars Days 2015

If you’ve ever been to any LEGOLAND parks, you may have noticed there are LEGO minifigure trading posts set up throughout the park for attendees to trade their minifigures for other ones. There’s a new rumor at LEGOLAND California saying that they may be removing them before The LEGO Movie World attraction opens up later this year.

An employee told of the attendees who was there today that it was too expensive to maintain. It’s worth noting that they have noticed the park has reduced the number of trading posts and employees don’t have minifigures on their badges as much as before. This could all be a rumor but signs are pointing that the minifigure trading will be going away soon. I’m not sure if this will be the same for other LEGOLAND parks or Discovery Centers or if it is just for the one here. Thanks to Hank for the heads up.
