McDonald’s has updated their Happy Meal site and it has revealed that The LEGO Movie 2 will be getting some Happy Meal toys next month. There’s no word on what it is but unless something drastic has changed, there will be no actual LEGO sets or minifigures included. If you remember from the first movie, we got some collectible cups featuring some of the characters.

An image of The LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures (71023) were revealed yesterday and now, an German online retailer has posted the box art and packaging for the set. If you look closely, do you see something different? If you guessed the packaging, you are correct. This new TLM2 minifigure series will be using similar packaging as the Unikitty Collectible Series (41775) which is slightly taller and the parts are in a bag inside another bag. This change could make feeling for a partiuclar minifigure somewhat more difficult as there is another layer of protection to go through. Some of the larger minifigures with unique pieces like the crayon, giraffe, and watermelon will still be easy to find but some characters will smaller parts will be a bit harder. The European 2019 catalogs for the first half of the year are now available and they have confirmed there will be some LEGO Toy Story 4 sets coming. According to the Spanish catalog, there will be some LEGO Toy Story 4+ sets and the English version confirms there will be a LEGO DUPLO Toy Story set. Rumor has it that it is a train set with Buzz Lightyear and Woody. Since the movie comes out in June, the 4+ and DUPLO sets will probably come out in May.
It’s another year in the books and we are now finally able to take a look at the 2018 website traffic and changes on The Brick Fan. You may or may not have noticed, we made some major changes to the site during the summer and fall. We changed hosting companies which resulted in better stability and we also changed the website theme. It may not look that much different from the one we have when we first started the site back in 2012 but it is much smoother and has additional functionality.
As a result as far as numbers are concerned, we ended 2018 with 14,847,830 pages views and that is a whopping 63% increase in traffic from 2017. Everything across the board increased which you can see below.
In June, we spiked in traffic probably due to some behind-the-scenes things I was working on and in September, we rolled out the new layout. Our highest traffic day was on November 22 with 82,568 views. That was the day that images of the January 2019 sets started coming out.

– October 10: LEGO Overwatch Omnic Bastion (75987) Revealed
– October 22: LEGO Overwatch Official Images Found at Target
Finally, we finished with 886 posts for the year with 4,818 comments on those posts. Both counts are slightly down from 2017 but considering I was basically working three jobs at one period of time last year, that’s not too bad.… Continue
2019 has hit the east coast and that means the LEGO 2019 sets are now available for purchase on Shop@Home. One of these sets include the newest modular, the LEGO Creator Corner Garage (10264). Also the 2019 sets from various themes are also available as well including:
– City
– Creator
– Friends
– Ninjago
– Speed Champions
– Star Wars
– Technic
The LEGO Overwatch sets will be available on January 2.

Folks on the other side of the world have started to receive their 2019 January-May LEGO catalog along with the LEGO Life magazine and we now have a first look at the upcoming The LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures (71023). We’ve already seen a few of them during my review of The Awesomest, Most Amazing, Most Epic Movie Guide in the Universe but now we get to see the rest of the lineup. The most surprising minifigures include the ones from The Wizard of Oz which consists of Dorothy with Toto, Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion, and the Scarecrow. We’ll know the names of all The LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures when LEGO decides to officially announce them which should be really soon since they will be available starting in February. The January 2019 LEGO Store Caledar doesn’t show any notable promotions for the month because LEGO doens’t announce them anymore on the calendars but instead will be sending them to your emails or use flyers in the mail. Thanks to one of our readers, Ryan, we have an image of one of the upcoming LEGO promotions for the beginning of the month.
From January 1-13, you will be able to choose your promo item with purchases of $25 or more at LEGO Stores or on Shop@Home. While supplies last, you will be able to get the LEGO City Fire ATV (30361) or the LEGO Friends Clubhouse Pod (5005236). I’m not sure if LEGO will be doing this “Choose Your Gift” promotion in the future but it’ll be cool if they do.
