LEGO Plants from Plants (40320) Giveaway Winner

A few weeks ago, I did a review of the LEGO Plants from Plants (40320) set and if you read the review to the end, I snuck in a giveaway for a copy of the set courtesy of LEGO. The giveaway has now ended and the winner of the set is:

Claudia V.

I’ve been thinking of adding in random giveaways in my review posts so it gives an incentive for those who actually read them. I’m not a prolific LEGO set reviewer but I do what I can with the time that I have so this is a way to thank those who take their time to read my opinion of the sets. Note that not all reviews will have giveaways but I’ll see what I can do.

LEGO Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts Collectible Minifigures (71022) Review

LEGO Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts Collectible Minifigures (71022)

The LEGO Wizarding World Harry Potter theme has had a very warm welcome back and along with this theme, we also get a Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts Collectible Minifigures (71022) line and the set has the most minifigures that has been in a Collectible Minifigures series coming in at a whopping 22 characters. The series consist of characters from both the Harry Potter movies as well as the first Fantastic Beasts movie. Each packet costs $3.99 each and I’ll do a breakdown of the distribution at the end of the review.

Overwatch Sanctuary Map Built with LEGO at Overwatch Fan Festival

As we still patiently wait for the reveal of the LEGO Overwatch sets, one of the big news from the Overwatch Fan Festival a few days ago was D.Va animated short, Shooting Star, but along side that was the reveal of a new Control map, Busan. The only LEGO related thing that has come out from the Overwatch Fan Festival is Sanctuary made out of LEGO bricks. It looks like Blizzard hired someone to create the map but it doesn’t seem like it’ll be part of the initial wave of sets coming out in January.

If we were going to see the LEGO Overwatch sets, it’ll probably be either at PAX West next week or during Blizzcon in November. The thing about Blizzcon is that Blizzard will be doing announcements weeks before the event so they could be revealed even before Blizzcon starts.

LEGO Harry Potter Diagon Alley (40289) Found in LEGO Certified Store

LEGO Harry Potter Diagon Alley (40289)

Yesterday I made a speculative post on a potential LEGO Harry Potter Diagon Alley set which was supposedly teased in the Hogwarts Castle designer video and it looks like that set is real. According to Brickset, a mini Diagon Alley (40289) has been found on store shelves in a Slovenia LEGO Certified Store. The set consists of Gringotts Wizarding Bank, Ollivanders, Flourish & Blotts, Quality Quiddich Supplies and Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes and it also includes an exclusive Ollivander minifigure.

There’s no word yet on pricing or release date at this time but at least we know the set actually exists and it fits the scale of Hogwarts Castle (71043). What do you guys think of the set?

LEGO Diagon Alley Teaser in Hogwarts Castle Designer Video?

LEGO Harry Potter Diagon Alley

Here’s some news of a potential future LEGO Wizarding World Harry Potter set which comes from the Hogwarts Castle (71043) designer video. A little past the halfway point of the video at 4:30, you can see something blurred out in the background and the rumor is that it could be a mini Diagon Alley. You can see the purple and orange building which could be Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes. The left building with the white columns could be the Gringotts Wizarding Bank. The middle building is still a mystery to me but I would assume would be Ollivanders since that is one of the most notable shops in Diagon Alley.

Do you guys think that the blurred buildings in the background is Diagon Alley or just something LEGO put there for more detailing for Hogwarts? We do know that LEGO likes to throw in teasers for upcoming sets in their videos and images so there’s a slight chance that we could get Diagon ALley.

LEGO Bricktober 2018 Sets Confirmed for Barnes & Noble

LEGO Harry Potter Bricktober 2018 (5005254)

Earlier today I reported that we finally get some images of the LEGO Bricktober 2018 sets which came from a Toys R Us Germany flyer. Unfortunaly for those countries including the US who doesn’t have a Toys R Us anymore, it was up in the air of which retailer would be getting the set. It has been confirmed on Twitter that Barnes & Noble, of all places, will be getting the sets later this year. There’s still no dates on when the LEGO Bricktober 2018 sets will be available but at least we know where we can get them.

Thanks to everyone who emailed in about this piece of news. I was at work and couldn’t update for the past few hours.

Update: LEGO just clarified that only the LEGO Harry Potter set will be available at Barnes & Noble so it’s still unsure which retailer(s) will get the other ones.
