It’s been almost two years since The LEGO Batman Movie was in theaters and fans have been wondering if there will be a sequel for it. The director for the first movie, Chris McKay, has assured us that a second movie is currently being worked on. This doesn’t mean that that The LEGO Batman Movie 2 has been officially announced but at least we know Warner Bros. is looking into it another movie for Batman. In the meantime, we still have the Caped Crusader in The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part which hits theaters in February.
We are working on that rn actually! In the meantime LEGO Batman is all over LEGO 2 coming in February.
LEGO has changed their layout on where we used to get the PDFs of the LEGO Store Calendars so for now, there’s no way to see the next month’s calendar if you don’t have a store nearby. I went to my store yesterday to get a copy of the January 2019 LEGO Store Calendar and it looks like we’re not missing out on much. Below are some of the promotions and events that will be going on next month.
January 1: The new LEGO Overwatch sets will be available for purchase along with a ton of other sets from various themes.
January 1: Double VIP Points on select sets at vip.lego.com.
January 8-9: VIP Monthly Mini Model Build is a Plane.
January 19 & 26: LEGO Life Meeting
January 21: Minifigure Swap Monday
January 23: LEGO Overwatch Play Event. The details of the event will become available on December 15. Sign ups for the event start on January 1.
The Aquaman Level Pack Part 1 for LEGO DC Super-Villains Video Game is now available for download starting today. The level packs includes six levels and the first part has five playable characters, Aquaman (Gladiator), Black Manta (Movie), Mera, Orm (Gladiator), King Nereus, and Queen Atlanna while the second pack adds another five playable characters including Aquaman (Movie), Vulko, Trench Creature, Murk, Brine King, and Orm (Movie).
[su_quote]For Season Pass holders, Aquaman Movie Part 1 will be available on December 4 and Aquaman Movie Part 2 will be available on January 8, 2019. The Season Pass, which adds six level packs and four character packs, is included in the LEGO DC Super-Villains Deluxe Edition or can be purchased separately for $14.99. For players that want to purchase the Aquaman movie packs à la carte, they can be purchased together in a bundle for $5.99 on January 8, 2019.
The action-packed Aquaman movie packs offer players the chance to control DC’s legendary pair, Aquaman and Mera, in the underwater kingdom of Atlantis. It’s up to them to lead their people against Aquaman’s brother, Orm, who seeks to unite the seven kingdoms against the surface world. The packs expand the main game’s already large roster of over 150 iconic DC characters. The first pack adds new playable characters Aquaman (Gladiator), Black Manta (Movie), Mera, Orm (Gladiator), King Nereus and Queen Atlanna. The second pack adds new playable characters Aquaman (Movie), Vulko, Trench Creature, Murk, Brine King and Orm (Movie). [/su_quote]
A few months ago, I did a post saying that the LEGO BrickHeadz line was rumored to be ending next year but it looks like that has been debunked as LEGO’s servers have uploaded the 2019 LEGO Seasonal BrickHeadz sets. As of this writing, there are eight sets that we can expect with three of them being available at the beginning of the year. There are high quality images of three of the sets and the rest are shown on the back of one of them.
I have just been told from my source that the LEGO Creator Detective’s Office (10246) and the Brick Bank (10251) have officially been retired. That means there are no more sets being produced and whatever sets you find on store shelves are the last remaining sets you’ll be able to find at retail price. I’ve been telling you guys about it for a while now and it looks like this is the end of the road for these two sets. As of this writing, LEGO Shop@Home still has them in stock and Amazon still has five sets available at retail price, however, the Brick Bank is out of stock everywhere.
The LEGO Movie 2 sets won’t be available until December 26 but you can get a head start on a couple of the sets as they are now available on Shop@Home. As of this writing, both the Emmet’s Builder Box (70832) and Lucy’s Builder Box (70833) can be purchased for $29.99 each and they include three models as well some new minifigure variants of Emmet and Lucy.
A lot of you may have been waiting to get your hands on the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Bricktober 2019 (5005256) set but I have some news about it that you may not like. I’ve been told by a source that it was only available in North America at Toys R Us Canada and we might not even see it being available at LEGO Brand Stores/Shop@Home. It also seems unlikely that we’ll also be seeing the Harry Potter (5005254) set at LBR and S@H but fortunately, Barnes & Noble still has their promo going for it until December 26.
Going back to the Marvel minifigure set, it’s a bummer that we won’t see it at LEGO Stores but there’s still a very slim chance that it could go to another retailer early next year however I won’t hold my breath. Currently the only way to get it is on the secondary market or if you have connections to someone in Canada or overseas.
