LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 Rumored Pre-Order Minifigure

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 was just announced last week and the official trailer doesn’t drop for another two days. Fans are already speculating there will be a pre-order bonus to go with the game since almost every recent standalone LEGO game had one before. Easy guesses are Spider-Man 2099 and Spider-Gwen since they are in the center of the cover art. Even Cowboy Captain America is strange enough to be one as well.

From what I am hearing, it won’t be any of the characters listed above but someone very random called Goliath. If you’re a comic book fan, Goliath is actually Hank Pym who was the original Ant-Man. Goliath is created when he used his growing power after he retired Giant-Man.

Although Goliath is a random choice for a minifigure, he is exclusive since we never had one in minifigure form but fans who wanted other characters will have to wait a little longer. Keep in mind that LEGO does not have to include a pre-order minifigure so this is actually a bonus, plus you get another member of the Avengers. Do you think Goliath is a good choice for the exclusive pre-order minifigure for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2?

LEGO Ideas Gilmore Girls – Luke’s Diner Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Gilmore Girls – Luke’s Diner by Rainer Zufall is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The setting for the project is from a prominent location from the popular comedy-drama show on the WB/CW. It also proposes minifigures of Lorelai, Luke, Rory, Jess, Lane, and Kirk.

The project hit the milestone in less than a month due to its coverage on online publications like Buzzfeed, Fortune, Time, and Mashable, just to name a few. I honestly did not watch Gilmore Girls so I’m not sure of its popularity even though I’ve heard of it before. It is the first project to reach the Second 2017 Review Stage.

Official LEGO Fidget Spinner Building Instructions

LEGO Fidget Spinner

The current fad, at least here in the US, is fidget toys and fidget spinners. Before the ship has sailed, it appears that LEGO has produced official building instructions for two versions of the toy.

The builds are very similar with no exclusive parts but it depends if you want to hold a turntable piece or a Technic pin. Of course, you can still customize the LEGO Fidget Spinner to your liking.

Various LEGO Sales on Amazon

Amazon is currently having very good sales on sets from various LEGO themes including a couple that are at a pretty decent price points for what you get.

First is the LEGO City City Square (60097) which is at $135.99. That is 28% off the normal price of $189.99 or $54 off. You do get a lot of cool builds with the set including the tram, LEGO Store as well as the LEGO delivery truck which we rarely see.

The next set that I think is a good buy is the LEGO Minecraft The Fortress (21127). It is currently at $67 or 39% off the normal price of $109.99. This brings the price/piece ratio to about $0.07. As with other Minecraft sets, you do get a good amount of parts anyways if you’re just buying it for parts.

Finally, we have a couple of LEGO Star Wars sets to help you build up your fleet. The Resistance X-Wing Fighter (75149) is at $56.72 which is currently 29% off the normal price of $79.99. This is a better price point since it’s mostly a recolor of Poe’s X-Wing Fighter (75102).

The other LEGO Star Wars set that I think is at a good price is the TIE Striker (75154). It’s almost at it’s lowest price ever on Amazon but good enough to recommend. It currently sits at $44.18 which is 37% off the regular price of $69.99.

The LEGO Group Achieves 100% Renewable Energy Target Three Years Early

Earlier today, The LEGO Group has announced that they have reached their 100% renewable energy target three years ahead of schedule. After spending about a DKK 6 billion/£700m investment over four years into offshore wind farms, the output from these projects have exceeded the energy use from the LEGO factories, offices, and stores globally. Their latest investment in the Burbo Bank Extension wind farm will provide power for more than 230,000 British households. You can read more about this milestone in the link above.

Facts about Burbo Bank Extension

The Burbo Bank Extension wind farm is a joint venture between DONG Energy (50%) and its partners PKA (25%) and KIRKBI A/S (25%), parent company of the LEGO Group.
The wind farm is located 7 kilometres off the coast of Liverpool and has a capacity of 258 megawatts, enough to supply renewable energy to 230,000 British households.
The wind farm consists of 32 MHI Vestas V164-8.0 MW wind turbines.
KIRKBI A/S invested approximately DKK 3.3 billion (GBP 375 million) in the construction of the wind farm, bringing the total amount invested in building offshore wind power to over DKK 6 billion (GBP 680 million).

Facts about the LEGO Group’s 100% renewable energy milestone

Since 2012, KIRKBI A/S has invested approximately DKK 6 billion in renewable energy on behalf of the LEGO Group, equivalent to 162 megawatts.
In addition to Burbo Bank Extension, KIRKBI A/S owns 31.5% of the Borkum Riffgrund 1 offshore wind farm in Germany, which can produce 312 megawatts and provide clean energy for 320,000 … Continue
