LEGO City People Pack – Space Research and Development (60230) Best Buy Sale – December 2020

Best Buy currently has the LEGO City People Pack – Space Research and Development (60230) on sale for only $31.99 which is 20% off the normal retail price. This is the lowest price I’ve seen the set at and it seems to be at the end of its shelf life as it was released last year on the LEGO Shop. The only downside is that you’ll get it in 2-3 weeks. You can also choose store pickup to save on the shipping cost.

LEGO Ideas BrickLink Designer Program Project Speculation

Yesterday, LEGO announced that they will be working with BrickLink to produce LEGO Ideas projects that were made into official set. As of this writing, there are 44 non-IP projects that were not approved to become sets and that number jumps up to 60 if you count the ones that are currently in review. From the list, there were plenty of projects that fans wanted to be real sets but couldn’t and this upcoming program could finally allow it.

Information about the program is still mostly under wraps but more details will be coming early next year. Depending on when that is, it may or may not include the projects that are currently under review and will also depend on when LEGO announces the next wave of winner(s). Now that we know that only select non-IP projects will be under consideration, which ones do you want to purchase if it comes to the BrickLink AFOL Designer Program?

LEGO Announces Collaboration with BrickLink to Produce Rejected LEGO Ideas Projects

LEGO has announced that they are moving forward with the pilot program with the BrickLink Designer Program to produce LEGO Ideas projects that didn’t become official sets. It will kick off in 2021 where select designers will invited to proceed forward. That’s no any other details at this time but expect more information early next year. What do you guys think about this new LEGO/BrickLink program to allow a second chance for sets to be realized?

Dear LEGO Ideas members,

As you know, LEGO Ideas has historically produced 4-5 new LEGO sets each year based on creative fan concepts that have reached the 10,000-supporter milestone. We love the fact that we are able to offer this opportunity to passionate LEGO fans around the world. However, we must acknowledge that many fan creators and the supporters of these projects have been left hoping their favourite contenders would be available to purchase.

Today we are excited to announce a pilot project in collaboration with BrickLink Designer Program, through which we aim to realize more of these fan projects that have reached 10,000 supporters.

BrickLink Designer Program

Back in 2018, BrickLink launched a pilot program with the LEGO Group to celebrate 60 years of the LEGO® brick and help realize unique fan designs with original themes. Thirteen fan designs were successfully crowdfunded through the pilot, and we have received many questions about its potential its return since then. Would there be a second iteration? If so, when? You will not have to wait much longer because we can happily … Continue

LEGO Ninjago Boulder Blaster (71736) Review

LEGO Ninjago Boulder Blaster (71736)

LEGO will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of LEGO Ninjago in 2021 and the newest wave will have something special in a few of the sets to commemorate the event. In these sets, there will be a golden minifigure of one of the ninjas included, with a total of six to collect. The first set that we’ll be taking a look at is the Boulder Blaster (71736) which is a Legacy set based on scenes from Season 4 of LEGO Ninjago Tournament of Elements. It has 449 pieces and will retail for $39.99.

LEGO Friends Heartlake City Movie Theater (41448) Review

Today we get to take a look at some new 2021 LEGO sets and the first one that we’ll be checking out is the LEGO Friends Heartlake City Movie Theater (41448). Releasing on January 1, it has 451 pieces and retails for $49.99. We’ll be doing something different for the LEGO Friends reviews. Since I don’t do much with the theme, I’ve actually sent it to one of the members of my community to review it. I’ve known Kelly and her family for a few years now and they’re big fans of the theme so this was perfect for them. Check it out below and subscribe to her channel.

Thank you to LEGO for sending in this set for me to review. The content above represents my own opinion and not the company. Review sets sent in does not guarantee a positive review.

LEGO Originals LEGO Wooden Minifigure (853967) Retiring Soon

If you’ve been waiting to pick up the LEGO Originals LEGO Wooden Minifigure (853967), you may want to do it soon as the LEGO Shop has announced that it will be retiring at the end of the year.

The Wooden Minifigure was released almost exactly one year ago and it is a 5:1 upscaled version of the classic LEGO minifigure. It is carved out of oak and it also includes an insert showing the history of the minifigure as well as the development of the wooden version.

LEGO Ideas Medieval Blacksmith (21325) Rumored to be Coming in February

There’s a new rumor going around regarding the next LEGO Ideas set to be released and it is said to be the Medieval Blacksmith (21325). It reached the 10,000 supporter goal last June and was announced as one of the winning projects earlier this year in February alongside Winnie the Pooh. The build was designed by Namirob and the upcoming set is said to be coming in February 2021 and will be priced between $100-$180. That’s a pretty wide price range so we’ll have to see how big it is which will determine the price. As always, these are purely rumors until LEGO announces it.
