LEGO 32×32 White Baseplates Reportedly Coming in 2020

It’s been almost 15 years since we’ve gotten LEGO 32×32 white baseplates but it looks like we’ll be getting them again next year. Hoth Bricks is reporting that LEGO will be releasing one in 2020 under the LEGO Classic theme with the product number 11010 at a price point of $7.99 each. It will be joining the lineup of 32×32 baseplates which includes Green, Blue, and Gray. For those who are looking to create snowy landscapes, it looks like it’ll be easier next year using the new white baseplates and not using white elements on top of the regular colored ones.

Life-Sized LEGO Ideas Central Perk Reveal at Friends Experience Las Vegas

Friends is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and there will be a Friends Experience in Las Vegas this weekend that will feature a life-sized version of Central Perk built out of LEGO. Nathan Sawaya has been commissioned to recreate a life-sized LEGO Ideas Central Perk (21319) that is 700 square feet and using almost 1 million LEGO bricks over a period of four months. It will be revealed and displayed today at the New York-New York Hotel which you can go and check out. As for the Central Perk set itself, it is currently out of stock again after going back up for a short time a few days ago.

Go big…or go home! At nearly 700 square feet, this re-creation of one of the series’ signature sets will be on display exclusively at New York-New York. Built out of 900,000 LEGO bricks over a period of four months, this life-sized re-creation from acclaimed artist Nathan Sawaya features everything from the iconic sofa to the latest menu board.

Fun Facts: No one has ever built a life-sized TV set out of LEGO bricks before. Although the creators binge-watched every season of “Friends,” it took them longer to build the set than to watch the series. The furniture is all fully functional –– allowing visitors to sit on the couches and chairs. The signature orange couch took the longest time to build –– as the most challenging part of the process was replicating the patterns in the upholstery.
