LEGO Ninjago - Masters of Spinjitzu Movie

Back at SDCC 2018, the LEGO Ninjago panel revealed that 2019 will be a big year which will include the 100th episode of LEGO Ninjago – Masters of Spinjitzu. Show creator Tommy Andreasen earlier today tweeted that the four episode story arc that will culminate with the show’s 100th episode will now become a feature length TV movie along with being individual episodes. There’s no word on when the episodes/movie will air but it’ll be some time next year.

Philly Brick Fest Early Registration Now Live

Early registration for Philly Brick Fest 2019 is now live and there’s only a few days left to do so at a discounted rate. From now until November 10, full registration for the event is $78 which includes special event opening ceremonies, a brick badge, goodie bag, display space for your LEGO creations, and more.

From the looks of it, I will be attending again next year and it will be my fifth year attending in total. If everything goes according to plan, I’ll be bringing The Brick Fan brick badges to give away to those who find me. I couldn’t get them in time for this year’s event. Just an insider tip if you’ve never been, there’s lots of activities there that is well worth the registration price and the event creators go out of their way to accommodate you.

The LEGO Group Announces Infringement Case Win Against LEPIN

LEGO has officially announced the results of the lawsuit against LEPIN in China. The Chinese courts have ruled in favor of The LEGO Group against four companies who infringed on multiple copyrights. According to the press release, the four companies, Shantou Meizhi Model Co., et al, are accountable for copying artwork for 18 LEGO sets and minifigures as well as using unfair competition acts. The courts have ruled that those companies will pay LEGO about RMB 4.5 million in damages. Check out the full press release below.

[su_quote]November 5, 2018: The LEGO Group today received a favourable decision from the Guangzhou Yuexiu District Court against four companies who infringed multiple copyrights of the LEGO Group and conducted acts of unfair competition by producing and distributing LEPIN building sets. It is another significant legal victory in China for the LEGO Group in its battle against imitators over the past two years.

According to the decisions issued by the court, the four defendants, Shantou Meizhi Model Co., Ltd., et al, are liable for copying the 3-dimensional artworks of 18 LEGO® sets, multiple LEGO Minifigures, as well as for carrying out unfair competition acts.

The court ordered, among other things, that the four defendants shall immediately cease producing, selling, exhibiting or in any way promoting the infringing products, and shall pay the LEGO Group approximately RMB 4.5 million as damages.

Niels B. Christiansen, Chief Executive Officer of the LEGO Group said:

“We welcome the court’s ruling. We believe these decisions are well-founded in the facts and the law, and … Continue

LEGO Architecture 2019 San Francisco (21043) and Paris (21044) Details

LEGO Architecture

We have some new details of the 2019 LEGO Architecture sets that will be coming next year. Alternate.at has listed two sets which are San Francisco (21043) and Paris (21044) and both will be the Skyline style that has been fairly popular among fans.

San Francisco has 565 pieces and will include the Painted Ladies, 555 California Street, the Transamerica Pyramid, the Salesforce Tower, the Coit Tower, Fort Point, the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island. The set is priced at € 49,99.

Paris has 694 pieces and its build will include the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs-Elysées, the Tour Montparnasse, the Grand Palais, the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre. It is also priced at € 49,99

LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters (75827) Amazon Sale

There’s a decent sale going at Amazon for the LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters (75827) that is 11% off the retail price. It is currently at $309.99 which saves you $40 on it. Outside of using VIP points, this is the lowest the set has been at. I’ve heard some rumors that the Ghostbusters Firehouse could be retiring soon but I can’t confirm the validity of it. Considering that the set was released back in January 2016 and direct-to-consumer sets have roughly a two year shelf life, it wouldn’t be out of the possibility that it might be gone after this year.

If you want to earn VIP points on this set, today is the last day of Double Points on Shop@Home and you’ll be able to earn 699 points from it. That means you’ll be getting back $35 from points but that’s still less than the Amazon sale so you’ll have to decide which way to go.
