There are many LEGO terms that are used in the community, some that you may not have heard of before. There’s a list of some of the more commonly used terms. Let me know if there’s something that I should add on.

AFOL: Adult Fan of LEGO.
B
Bigfig: Big Figure. Refers to a character that is larger than the standard LEGO minifigure.
Bley: Light Bley: Bluish Grey, also called as Medium Stone Gray by the LEGO.
BrickLink: An online marketplace for people to buy and sell LEGO, either by sets, minifigures, individual parts, or other LEGO products.
BURP: Big Ugly Rock Piece – a large section of LEGO rock face. Part 6082.

Cheese Slope: A 1×1 piece that has a 33° slope. Part 54200.
Clone: Construction toys that are “compatible” with LEGO products but not at the same quality.
Collector: A LEGO fan whose interest in the hobby is to collect sets, usually for a particular theme.
A few hours ago, LEGO released their annual results for 2016 and not surprisingly, it was the highest revenue in company history. However in the US, sales were flat despite a large increase in marketing spending from in the second half of the year.
There were 335 new products last year and the main themes that contributed to that revenue was LEGO City, LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Ninjago, LEGO Friends, LEGO Technic, LEGO Creator, and LEGO DUPLO. You can read more of the highlights below as well as the full report here.
– Revenue for the full year increased by 6.0 percent in DKK to DKK 37.9 billion compared with DKK 35.8 billion for 2015.
– Revenue for the full year increased 5.5 percent compared with 2015, excluding the impact of foreign currency exchange.
– Operating profit (profit before financial items and tax) for 2016 was DKK 12.4 billion compared with DKK 12.2 billion for 2015, an increase of 1.7 percent year on year.
– Net profit for the full year was DKK 9.4 billion compared with DKK 9.2 billion in 2015.
Cash flow from operating activities for the year was DKK 9.1 billion compared with DKK 10.6 billion in 2015.
– Tax on profit for the year amounts to DKK 3.0 billion, unchanged from 2015.
– Significant investments were made in building capacity and capability to deliver the group’s long-term growth ambition.

LEGO Worlds is now available on PlayStation 4, XBox One, and Steam and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has sent over the press release as well as some screenshots of the game. LEGO Worlds has been available on Steam Early Access but it now is available for various systems.

LEGO has a pretty cool Easter building campaign that has kicked off today and there are some prizes for winners. All you have to do is build something Easter related and share your images online using the hastag #LEGOEaster. To enter the raffle, you must share your image to the Flickr Pool and follow the rules there. Late last year, I reported that there was a new Batman Battle Pod (5004929) polybag for The LEGO Batman Movie which was available overseas. If you haven’t seen this particular polybag yet, it consists of the exclusive Batman tiger suit minifigure as well as some accessories like a grappling hook and a map.
There hasn’t been much information about the availability of it here in the US until today. I’ve received information that it will soon be available at LEGOLAND California but there’s no set date for it yet or what promotion it will be.
I’ll let you guys know when you get your hands on The LEGO Batman Movie Batman Battle Pod (5004929) polybag when I get more details. My guess is in a few months when the summer wave of sets hit the shelves.
If you saw my post for the April 2017 LEGO Store Calendar, you probably saw that the US is finally getting the LEGO Creator Mini Volkswagen Beetle (40252) as part of a promotion. It is a 141 piece set that is basically a smaller version of the Volkswagen Beetle (10252) which was released last year.
