LEGO February 2022 Sets Now Available on LEGO Shop

The February 2022 LEGO sets are now available for purchase on the LEGO Shop. There are only a few new sets this month with one being the LEGO Ideas The Globe (21332) while the others being new licensed BrickHeadz from Toy Story, Stranger Things, and Looney Tunes.

For the promotions, the LEGO Vintage Taxi (40532) is still available with purchases of $200 and there’s also a LEGO Friends Market Stall (30416) polybag with Friends purchases of $40. Both promotions will run until February 13. Remember to use Rakuten to earn some cash back on your purchases.

LEGO February 2022 Shopping Guide

February is right upon us and there will be new LEGO sets available starting tonight. The list isn’t huge but the first is the newest LEGO Ideas set with The Globe (21332) which I think is one of the more attractive display pieces in recent years. The other sets that will be available are some licensed BrickHeadz from Toy Story, Stranger Things, and Looney Tunes.

LEGO Seasonal Easter Rabbits Display (40523) Review

A new LEGO Seasonal set releasing in a few days is the Easter Rabbits Display (40523) which consists of 288 pieces and will retail for $12.99. The 2022 Seasonal sets feature a pair of animals corresponding to a particular holiday as well as a small scene. What’s nice about this year’s sets is that two people can build at the same time as the instructions are separated by builds as well as it having numbered bags.

LEGO Ideas Steampunk Airship Achieves 10,000 Supporters Again

The Steampunk Airship by BrickHammer is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas again. This is the exact same project that hit the goal last year but was rejected when it was grouped up with 56 other projects in the First 2021 Review Stage.

The project now joins The Forestmen Secret Inn, The Legendary Concorde, Wild West Mine, LEGO Koala, LEGO Toilet, and Mini City Diorama: London with Underground Station! as the ones to reach the First 2022 Review Stage.

LEGO VIDIYO Discontinued at End of January 2022

In July 2021, LEGO released a statement on pausing the LEGO VIDIYO theme until further notice and today, LEGO has announced that the theme will indeed be discontinued. The past few months the LEGO VIDIYO team has been testing new ideas for the theme to make it a sustainable business but it turns out that it wouldn’t work. LEGO will be discontinuing the theme on January 31 but the app will still be supported for another two years. You can read the official statement below.

In July 2021 we decided to pause the LEGO VIDIYO roll-out to review performance and test new ideas. Through the extensive quantitative and qualitative research we have undertaken in the previous months, we have gained an enormous amount of learnings in terms of the music & content creation space and what it would take to succeed with the play experience, our go-to-market strategy in 2023 and not least how to build a sustainable business based on the VIDIYO experience.

Based on these insights we have decided to discontinue the physical VIDIYO products from January 31st 2022 but will continue to support the app experience for another two years to serve those consumers who have bought the products.

We still see great potential in pursuing music as a passion point and we will take learnings from LEGO VIDIYO as we continue to explore future fluid play experiences.
