LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Martian Manhunter Minifigure (5002126) Review

During the month of March, LEGO Stores and Shop@Home is offering a minifigure polybag that I’m sure many people will be wanting to get their hands on, the DC Comics Super Heroes Martian Manhunter (5002126) polybag.

Martian Manhunter, aka J’onn J’onzz, is based off The New 52 version. He has a green head with red eyes and black surrounding them to show the depth of the eyes. He has a green torso with red straps going across the chest. Around his shoulders area is a blue collar from the cape. The legs are mostly blue with some red printing for part of his tunic.

Overall, the Martian Manhunter is a really good minifigure and is a great addition for fans of the Justice League of America. If you were lucky to get the Green Lantern from the 2011 San Diego Comic Con, then you have the potential to get all of the original members of the JLA with the release of the Flash this year. If you’re like the majority of us who don’t have Mr. Hal Jordan, you just have to wait for him to be released in an official set. For the meantime, at least we’re one step closer to a full JLA.

To get the Martian Manhunter, you will need to spend $75 at LEGO Stores or on Shop@Home but for 1 lucky winner, you can get it for free! All you have to do is to enter our giveaway on the Rafflecopter app below. The giveaway will end on March 15th.

It is of 1/20 scale and took a 3-man team 25 days to finish. Check out the video below:

Brick Fans Could Be Printing Their Own LEGO Bricks in the Future

There was an interesting report earlier today by Time that The LEGO Group could be considering 3D printing as a business strategy. Could we be able to print our own bricks and minifigures in the future? The article states that LEGO is looking at ways to adapt to an age where things are going digital. Although LEGO does have an online presence, they want to grow that presence and they believe that 3D printing may be the way to go.

John Goodwin, LEGO’s CFO, states, “3-D printing is a fascinating development and certainly opens up a lot of new avenues. We are looking very intently at it and monitoring it, looking at what potential opportunities there are for consumers.”

Last week at The LEGO Group’s 2013 annual report, CEO Jørgen Vig Knudstorp stated in the press conference that LEGO wants to leverage digitalisation and 3D printing could be another way how the company could achieve that goal. Finally Mads Nipper, LEGO’s Chief Marketing Officer, notes 3D printing “might be an exciting opportunity to print your own bricks.” What do you think of the idea of creating your own bricks using 3D technology?

LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes The Batman Tumbler (30300) Polybag Review

A few weeks ago, we reported that the new LEGO DC Comicss Super Heroes The Batman Tumbler (30300) polybag had started showing up at Target stores. Ever since then, I’ve been looking around the stores here with no avail until today. I found just hanging around by its lonesome self and gave it a new home. The polybag consists of 57 pieces and retails for $3.99. The price per ratio is exceptionally good for this set coming in at $0.07/piece.

LEGO LEGOLAND Entrance with Family (40115)

Brickset’s database update has yielded a cool little set that you may start to find at LEGOLAND parks in the near future. This new set shows a family in miniland scale at the entrance of the park. One of the kids is dressed up in a Castle theme outfit while the other is in a fairy outfit. After looking at the instructions, there are 320 pieces used to build the set. There’s no word on the price for this LEGOLAND Entrance with Family (40115) set as of this time. It looks like it’s time to make a trip to LEGOLAND California for me!
