LEGO Ninjago Nindroid MechDragon (70725) Now Available At Toys R Us?

LEGO Ninjago Nindroid MechDragon (70725)

It looks like the 2014 LEGO Ninjago sets are starting to hit shelves at Toys R Us stores a little early. According to the website, the Nindroid MechDragon (70725) has a green check mark next to it saying it is sold in stores. If you’re looking to pick up the new Ninjago sets, you may want to call up your local Toys R Us store to see if they currently have them in stock or not. TRU has the set listed at $79.99 which is what we reported as the price a few weeks ago but no option to purchase online.

Enter the MechDragon! Sensei Garmadon and Lloyd are trying to escape with the Techno-Blade in Nya’s car, but Sensei Wu, who has turned evil, and the Nindroids are flying the MechDragon in hot pursuit. Drive clear of the MechDragon’s fast-spinning circular saw blades on the huge wings and dodge the missiles fired from the cannon. Evade its mechanical mouth, giant claws and dangerous whipping tail. Evil Wu is at the controls with two other armed Nindroids below ready to jump off into battle. Don’t let them capture the Ninja and imprison him in the hidden cell to power their MechDragon. Speed away in Nya’s car and fire the harpoon and unleash flick missiles from the hidden cannons to repel them. Includes 5 minifigures with weapons: Sensei Garmadon, Lloyd, Evil Wu, General Cryptor and a Nindroid.

LEGO Disney Princess Merida Mini-Doll Closeup

LEGO Disney Princess Merida's Highland Games (41051)

Apparently, there a was an auction on eBay that ended yesterday for the new LEGO Disney Princess Merida mini-doll. You can see a closeup of Merida who wears a dark blue dress and carries her golden bow. The figure comes from Merida’s Highland Games (41051) which will be releasing next year. Some “lucky” winner of the auction paid $29.99 for it but the set will only retail for $19.99, go figure. Anywho, what are your thoughts of the Merida mini-doll after seeing closeup images of it?

LEGO Store Exclusive Holiday VIP Shopping Event

LEGO Store Exclusive Holiday Shopping Event

Today in the mail, I received a curious envelope featuring the solid red minifigure. Inside was in invitation to an exclusive Holiday shopping event for VIP members at the local LEGO Store. The shopping event is invitation-only and it allows me and one guest early access to the store to take advantage of special holiday offers as well as free gifts. I’m not sure what specials or gifts the store will be having but I’m curious to see. As to my knowledge of past LEGO “events,” not all VIP Members will be getting an invitation to the event (VIP Keychain). Only members who have spend a certain amount during a certain period will be able to join in on the festivities. Like with many special shopping events, there are restrictions. There’s a spending limit of $5000 and no more than five of each set to per person.

LEGO Putting Smiles On Faces Everyday

I first came over this video on LEGO Shop’s Facebook Page and couldn’t help but to smile after watching it. To give a little back story, Brett took his son to his very first trip to the Vancouver LEGO Store, and like many other kids and adults who have an opportunity to step inside a store, the eyes get big and there’s an unforgettable smile on the face.

This is one of the reasons why I got back into LEGO. Seeing kids happy faces at the stores and it takes me back to my younger days when I would see LEGO sets on the shelves and wanting to buy everything in sight. I have friends who are Brick Specialists at the local LEGO store here in San Diego and to see them assisting kids pick out sets is pretty cool. Some may be visiting for the first time and may be picking out their first sets but one thing that is constant is the smiles that you see.
