LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 10 Mr. Gold Charity Auction

If you’re wanting a Mr. Gold minifigure from the recently released Series 10 Collectible Minifigures (71001) theme and feeling generous, now’s your chance to help out a great cause. BrickBrats has listed an auction on eBay to benefit the American Lung Association of California. May is Asthma Awareness Month and they are letting people know more about the cause because the disease has affected their family directly and now they are giving back. All the proceeds from the auction will go directly to the American Lung Association of California so you’ll know exactly where your money is going. The auction has 8 days left with a current high bid of $510 as of this writing. This Mr. Gold minifigure is numbered #4625/5000.

LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 10 Mr. Gold Found in North America

According to Brickset, a couple of collectors in North America have found the elusive Mr. Gold minifigure from the Series 10 Collectible Minifigures (71001) line. The minifig was found at Walmart in Ontario, Canada so if you’re wondering if they could be found in normal retail stores and not just LEGO stores, there’s the proof. The image above shows Mr. Gold that was found from a collector in Georgia.

If you’ve been lucky few to find Mr. Gold this early, now’s your chance to make some quick bucks on eBay or Bricklink. There was an auction on eBay that ended just today that sold for $1200 from a seller in Oregon.

LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 10 Mr. Gold Minifigure Found

A German seller has found 2 of the 5000 Mr. Gold minifigures that are in Series 10 LEGO Collectible Minifigures and they are now on eBay for €999 or about $1,307.09. The two minifigures are numbered 865/5000 and 870/5000.

The high prices of the Mr. Gold minifigures aren’t surprising since these are probably the first ones to show up on eBay but I know I won’t be paying insanely amounts of money just to get it. Probably a majority of collectors out there might miss out on him and might end up paying quite a penny just to get one. Hopefully more show up online and prices drop significantly to be tempting enough to pick one up.

LEGO Minifigures: Character Encyclopedia Exclusive Minifigure Revealed

LEGO Minifigures: Character Encyclopedia Exclusive Minifigure

Last year, we reported there will be a brand new LEGO Minifigures: Character Encyclopedia being released this year but weren’t sure what the exclusive minifigure was. Today, Hong Kong LUG (HKLUG) revealed what this minifigure will be in the DK Book. As you can see in the image above, it will be a Toy Soldier in a red and blue colored uniform with a rifle and a wind-up key.

The LEGO Minifigures: Character Encyclopedia will feature all the minifigures from Series 1 through 10. The book has 208 pages and will retail for $18.99 and will be available May 1, 2013 but you can pre-order it on Amazon today.

In one of the images from the book, Mr. Gold from Series 10 is also featured. The description for him is as follows:

Somewhere out there is a very special Minifigure called Mr. Gold. Shiny and golden from the top of his hat to the tips of his toes, he never turns up exactly where and when you are looking for him. If you do happen to spot him, it is said that you will be lucky all day long!
