LEGO Wins Three Awards at 2015 New York Toy Fair

For some day 2 news from the 2015 New York Toy Fair, there were 13 different Toy Fair awards announced this morning and LEGO has won three of them. Thanks to Chad for sending us the news and you can check out the video below.

First is the Preschool Toy of the Year going to the LEGO Juniors Knights’ Castle (10676). This set was recognized for an outstanding toy developed for pre-schoolers ages 3-5.

The e-Connected Toy of the Year went to the LEGO Fusion Town Master (21204). This award was for an app-cessory or physical toy that interacts with a smartphone, tablet, or gaming device.

Finally for the Educational Toy of the Year, the LEGO TECHNIC Cargo Plane (42025) snagged that one. This award was for a toy that helps children develop special skills and knowledge through play. I believe any LEGO set could have won this award since they all fit the requirements.

More LEGO Set Images From New York Toy Fair 2015

As you’ve heard by now, the 2015 New York Toy Fair is going on right now as we speak. Earlier today, we did a post collecting a lot of the photos from members of the LEGO community who were able to go to the event. Our friend Chad from Brick Builders Club and Brick Fest Live was also able to attend the event and he has sent us a lot more images of the sets from his perspective. I’ve tried to organize the sets according to the different themes that were displayed. There were some themes that were missing but you can check out those images on our previous post. Since there will be around 200 images, I have to make them a little smaller so the page doesn’t take forever to load but you can still click on them to see the full image.

LEGO 2015 New York Toy Fair Press Releases

New York Toy Fair 2015

The 2015 New York Toy Fair is starting this weekend and LEGO has released four press releases today about the company’s growth last year as well as some themes we can expect to see at the Toy Fair. According to one of the releases, there will be a whopping 313 sets displayed at the American International Toy Fair which is the largest collection displayed so far including LEGO Elves and LEGO Star Wars.

We pretty much know about everything that will be shown at the event but one thing that’s notable on the press release is LEGO finally acknowledging The Simpsons Series 2 Collectible Minifigures (71009) which will be released in May and the Halloween-themed Series 14 Collectible Minifigures in September. So far both waves have only been rumors including the leaked image of the Halloween Monster minifigures which have since been taken down. As usual, I would guess that the minifigures will not be shown there but the boxes will be shown.

As mentioned before, we will be there indirectly as Chad from Brick Fest Live will be sending us images and videos to upload throughout the event. Our coverage will be starting around 7am EST/4am PST on Saturday, February 14.

New York Toy Fair 2015 Coverage This Weekend

New York Toy Fair 2015

This Valentine’s Day weekend, the 2015 New York Toy Fair will be starting and members of the press will be able to get a close-up look at some of the upcoming toys you can expect to see later this year. On Saturday, select invited members to the LEGO booth will get an even earlier access to the booth before the show officially opens. This also means that we will finally get to see images of the Summer 2015 sets of LEGO Jurassic World, Star Wars, and Super Heroes, just to name a few, which photography was previously prohibited at the other toy fairs earlier this year. Unfortunately, The Brick Fan won’t be in attendance but we are teaming up with Chad from Brick Fest Live/Your Creative Friends to hopefully bring you some awesome images and videos throughout the event. Our coverage is scheduled to start at 7am EST/4am PST so stay tuned.
