The LEGO Batman Movie Batman Battle Pod (5004929) Coming to LEGOLAND California

The LEGO Batman Movie Batman Battle Pod (5004929)

Late last year, I reported that there was a new Batman Battle Pod (5004929) polybag for The LEGO Batman Movie which was available overseas. If you haven’t seen this particular polybag yet, it consists of the exclusive Batman tiger suit minifigure as well as some accessories like a grappling hook and a map.

There hasn’t been much information about the availability of it here in the US until today. I’ve received information that it will soon be available at LEGOLAND California but there’s no set date for it yet or what promotion it will be.

I’ll let you guys know when you get your hands on The LEGO Batman Movie Batman Battle Pod (5004929) polybag when I get more details. My guess is in a few months when the summer wave of sets hit the shelves.

can you shop at Legoland CA without going into the park?

Yes, to a limited extent (but almost certainly enough to get this). At the front of LLCA is the largest shopping area in the entire park. It’s called The Big Shop. It’s basically a LEGO Store on steroids, and it bridges the gate area. You can enter from the parking lot or the park, but reentry into the park will require a hand stamp to prove you paid admission.

Now, it’s run more by Merlin than TLC, so the VIP program does not cover LEGOLAND locations. If you flash your VIP card, they should give you 5% off when they ring you up, which is actually slightly better when it’s not Double Points like right now (5% off means every $100 costs you $95, while VIP points means every $105 costs you $100 because spent points don’t earn you more points).

Inside the park you’ll find more traditional theme-park-y shops, with overpriced batteries, cheap sunglasse, theme-oriented non-LEGO souvenirs (I remember being able to fill a bag with semi-precious gemstones near the Pirate area), but if it’s a regular set of any sort it should be available at The Big Shop since _nobody_ wants to lug a giant Death Star set around an outdoor park in SoCal. Not even in winter. Also, they know they’ll get a lot of drive-by shoppers who have no intention of paying admission to see the park every time they want to buy new sets.

Thanks for the legoland shopping info….

Thank you! I’ve been kinda hovering over the Bricklink page for this set, watching prices waver around in the $45-$55 range, and knowing that I’d want to buy a minimum of two (preferably three). US availability might help cut the prices down on these. Even better would be if they show up at the LLDCs, since then I can just drive up there and buy them at MSRP. I’ve actually de-chained two Kiss Kiss Tuxedo Batman keychains, so this is currently the only official minifig-scale crazy Batsuit that I’m missing. Next on the agenda would be seeing if there are any that can be cobbled together from existing parts.

I wish there was someway to find out what the production runs are/were on these things. From past experiences it seems like anything in a polybag has a decent production run and should come down to the $20 range eventually.

I just hate to pay for someone’s 1/2 off Lego. No offense to the people who live near Legoland and getting the secondary market to subsidize their purchases.

the case makes me miss the lego x pods… containers that could actually be used as part of a set… so useful…

At LL Florida yesterday and was told by a Mgr that the big box of BPs that I saw were going to be the free gift with $30 TLBM purchase starting today.
