Target was running a deal as of yesterday where you could text to get an in-store coupon for $10 off $50 or $25 off $100. Got the Batcave and some of the new Batman minifigs and got $25 off.
They are price matching the price Walmart has them for.
But not at Amazon.ca where nothing ever goes on sale… (That’s not fair – sometimes I see Lego sets that are almost half price on Amazon.com marked down as much as 10 cents on Amazon.ca!)
It’s not even a little surprising. Ever since TLM debuted, they’ve been stretched thin on the supply side. First they stopped shipping to locally-owned stores in Canada, and the last year or two they’ve pulled select 1-1 releases forward to 12-1 just to keep product on store shelves as they sell through remaining stock of retiring sets. In this case, TLBM is the smartest move they’ve made with these early release waves. Batman is the most popular superhero in general, TLBM is due out in two months, and they’ve got a ton of TLBM sets just waiting in the wings. Letting a few out early won’t wipe out the entire lineup, as has happened with other themes in this same situation.
