There’s some huge news/rumors coming from Just2Good this morning. He has noted that there are some “very reliable sources” saying that we’ll be getting a direct-to-consumer LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters (75827) on January 1, 2016. The set will be over 4,600 pieces and retail at $350. The set will be able to open up to see the interior details and such. J2G also mentioned that this set will be based on the original Ghostbusters films and not for the upcoming movie with the female crew. Finally, he mentions there will be a modular set planned for next near and the the firehouse isn’t a replacement for it.
As we all know by now, there have been some Ghostbusters Firehouse sets that weren’t approved to become official sets on LEGO Ideas but we did get the LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (21108). Additionally, we are also getting some LEGO Dimensions
expansion packs so we do know that LEGO does have a license to create Ghostbusters products.
Again, this is all speculation but Just2Good has proven that he is a reliable source of upcoming sets. If you’ve been holding off on getting the LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (21108), I suggest you pick one up soon to go along with the new LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters (75827) since he didn’t mention the set coming with one. Sound off in the comments if you’re getting one if it actually becomes a set.
Update: A few hours after I did this post, Paperballpark over on the Brickset forums has found an URL on Shop@Home that corresponds to this piece of news.
Note: The image above is not the set. It is from Brent Waller when he provided the instructions for his version of the firehouse.

4600 pieces… 3rd largest LEGO set?
Guys, just2good said that there’s still a modular planned for 2016. Check the video again. 🙂
Sorry, I misread it.
No problem. A lot of peopel would be mad if LEGO doesn’t release a new modular.
what video? Please share.

Thanks for sharing J2G, do you have any news about the 2016 modular?
$350…. yikes. It would be much better at a lower price point.
For 4600 pieces being a licensed set? It’s an amazing price.
It is amazing, I love it. I just think they would have been better off scaling it down. I bet they would sell a whole lot more with 3,000 pieces at say $199 (very similar in size and price to the town hall). $350 is quite a hit for the average collector
Sorry, but this isn’t for the average collector. I just hope I can fit my ecto-1 in it.
Yeah, I don’t think they are complaining about the piece count for the price; I think they are like me in that they think it would have been better to make this perhaps $249.99 at most. For that price, you could still make a very nice headquarters and include the cool new minifigs. This is like a UCS item essentially when it didn’t need to be in order to be cool and highly desirable.
This should probably come with another Ecto 1. You know, in case some people missed their chance back in 2014. Or maybe the Ecto 1A from Ghostbusters 2.
I’ve seen the ECTO-1 in my TRU only a couple weeks ago.
I hope it comes with a Janine minifigure … 🙂
My guess is either the four main guys same as the Ecto 1 or lab coat variants of Peter, ray & Egon and a plain clothes Winston, Janine, Dana, Louis & Walter Peck with Slimer and a couple other ghosts. I agree that it could be scaled down a bit to accommodate a lower price point, especially considering there’s only seating for 3 in the Ecto-1, but I don’t buy Lego often enough to complain about one of my dream sets being made at any price. That said, I’d love to see this thing include an Ecto-1.0 that actually does seat all 4 guys. But I doubt that’s gonna happen.
