LEGO CUUSOO Back to the Future DeLorean Time Machine Set Revealed

BrickFanatics has gotten a copy of July’s Store Newsletter and it an image of the new LEGO CUUSOO Back to the Future DeLorean Time Machine (21103). The flyer also shows the release date of July 18th and will be available in LEGO Stores and at Shop@Homeicon. There’s is still no word yet on pricing on the set or how many pieces it will contain. There’s also no word on if there will be any minifigures included. The DeLorean shown in the image is the hover conversion DeLorean from the end of first Back to the Future movie and the main vehicle in the second movie. LEGO has changed the designed a little from the one that Masashi had submitted on CUUSOO. One noticeable difference is the front of the car and the windshield area. Nevertheless, I’ll still be picking up a set when it comes out. Will you be getting it next month when it becomes available to the public as well?

**Update: New images of the set here**

“If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything!”

When Masashi, LEGO fan and founder of a Back to the Future fan site, posted his creation of a LEGO DeLorean time machine on LEGO.cuusoo.com in the summer of 2011, he could not have imagined achieving the 10,000 supporters needed to develop his idea in only a few months. Even more importantly: his model passed all the product tests in 2012 and is now part of the LEGO product assortment.

Congrats Masashi,

LEGO CUUSOO ATLAS Mini Model Achieves 10000 Supporters

The ATLAS Mini Model – Education/Outreach Project by SaMe on LEGO CUUSOO has quickly reached the 10000 supporters needed to be reviewed by The LEGO Jury in the 2013 Fall Review. The reason why the project hit the goal so fast is because of the help of a science related Facebook Page. With over 5 million likes on the page itself, thousands of people saw the project on their Facebook stream and helped support it. The influx of supporters actually crashed the server that CUUSOO is on and the response was overwhelming.

The ATLAS Mini Model is based on the ATLAS Experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. If you’ve been following science news, the LHC is a particle accelerator used to prove or disprove the Higgs boson or the “God particle.” In July 2012, ATLAS was one of the experiments that was involved in the discovery of a particle that was similar to the Higgs boson. The Mini Model consists of 560 pieces and is able to be built in less than an hour.

Congratulations to SaMe for getting this amazing achievement! We’ll see later this year if the project will pass the review stage and become an official set or not. Science projects have had a good track record on passing the review stage. Below is the official comment from CUUSOO.

Congrats on 10,000 Supporters, SaMe!

2013.06.20

Oh my Higgs Boson!

Congratulations to SaMe and to our new friends who really, really love science, on successfully reaching 10,000 supporters in such a short time.

The ‘Special’ as arisen.” The scene then pans to Emmet voiced by Pratt who has no idea what is going on. The trailer then shows a lot of amazing action sequences using stop-motion animation as well as CGI. You also get a glimpse of Lucy, played by Banks, who might be the love interest of the hero.

International Version

The LEGO Movie follows Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. Emmet (Chris Pratt) is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which he is hopelessly and hilariously under prepared.

Will Ferrell, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Will Arnett, Elizabeth Banks, Nick Offerman and Alison Brie join Chris Pratt to form the cast of the first-ever full length theatrical LEGO movie, the greatest movie ever assembled, which is
