The Brick Fan Turn 2 Years Old

Today marks the second year that The Brick Fan has been online. What started out two years as a just a simple hobby has turned into a somewhat of a part-time job for me. Last year, I made a goal to double the traffic that the site had and that was accomplished, more than what I expected. I’m not going to post any stats because they are similar to the ones in last year’s recap and I don’t want to repeat what’s been said already.

First and foremost, thank you to all the readers. This may sound cliche but without you guys, this site would be absolutely nothing. I never imagined that a tiny site like this would have such a following. It may be a small following but I appreciate everyone just taking a little bit of your time and reading what I have put out. All of your positive comments and feedback are what motivates me to keep this site going. I don’t have any plans to stop so let’s see how long we can keep this going.

I also want to thank all the people in the LEGO community that I’ve met or been in contact with last year. I’ve made a lot of new friends and acquaintances and hope to connect with more people this year. To the staff at the Fashion Valley LEGO Store, thanks for letting me hang out there with you guys during my downtime. It’s been cool interacting with everyone there and seeing how the store is ran from a customer’s point of view? I don’t even know what to consider myself since I go there so much and just hang out. I’m a loiter, that’s what I am 😉 You guys do a really great job and to me, you are the number one LEGO Store in the world.

My goal now for the site is to just continue doing what I’m doing and that is to bring you guys up-to-date LEGO news and also reviews. I might not be doing as many reviews as I like but it’ll slowly continue. Earlier this year, I introduced some reviews of older LEGO sets from the 90’s and I got some really good feedback from that so I may bring back some more old school stuff that I have later in 2014. I may also do some reviews on sets that I got when I came back from the “Dark Ages” but haven’t cracked them open yet.

I’m always taking feedback and suggestions on how I can improve the site so feel free to contact me if you can think of anything. Also, feel free to connect with me through all the major social media sites including Facebook, Google+, Twitter, and even Instagram. You’ll most likely find some behind the scenes pictures there that you won’t find on the site itself. So in conclusion, let’s make year two of The Brick Fan an even better one than year one!
