Designed by Fans, for Fans
Launched in 2021, the BDP gives fan designers the opportunity to bring their creative vision to life as official LEGO sets and share their designs with other adult fans.
Series 9 Fun Facts
• Fisherman’s Village is the first BDP set designed by multiple fan designers, with brothers Guillaume and Nicolas collaborating on the model.
• Fisherman’s Village contains microscale builds of several fan favorite LEGO sets, including the Ship in a Bottle (21313), Old Fishing Store (21310), Motorized Lighthouse (21335), the Titanic (10294), the Endurance (10335), and the Globe (21332), which was also designed by this Fan Designer for LEGO Ideas.
• Sleepy Dragon Inn scales well with the other Medieval Village buildings like Medieval Blacksmith (21325) and Alchemist Shop (910062).
• Sleepy Dragon Inn features a play function that brings the inn to life. Turn the log on the side to roast the chicken in the hearth as patrons dance and the bard performs on stage.
• Wild West Blacksmith is the fifth BDP set in the Wild West theme, joining General Store (910031), Logging Railway (910035), Wild West Train (910044), and Gold Mine Expedition (910055).
• Wild West Blacksmith has a working windmill which powers the bellows, forge flames, and grinding wheel. There is also a nod to the General Store (910031) in the attic.
• Woodbrick Freight Depot has all the machinery needed to get freight processed and moved on and off your flat cars. There’s even a special delivery inside the BDP crate!
• Pumpkin Patch has the most pumpkins ever included in a set and was designed by our first finalist from Denmark, the home of the LEGO Group.More Chances to Get Involved
More BDP sets are on the way, along with new opportunities for Fan Designers. We’re currently working with the Series 10 and Series 11 Fan Designers to refine their designs ahead of Crowdfunding in February and June 2027.
After Series 11, BDP is moving from series to waves, starting with 2028 Wave 1. The 2028 Wave 1 palette is now live, so members can start designing their submissions ahead of the open submission period from September 14th through September 28th, 2026.
Submitted designs will move into Crowd Support from October 5th through October 19th, where members can vote for their favorites to help decide which ones have the chance to become 2028 Wave 1 sets. The five Fan Designers will be announced on November 20th.
