August 2013 LEGO Promotions and Releases

August is upon us and there are some new LEGO promotions as well as many set releases in the beginning of the month at brick and mortar stores as well as on Shop@Home. First, you can get a FREE LEGO Friends Ice Cream Stand (30106) with and LEGO Friends purchase. This offer is valid through the month of August while supplies last.

Another promotion is you can get a FREE LEGO Galaxy Squad Mini Mech (30230) with any purchase of $50 or more. This offer is only valid from August 1-16, while supplies last.

There are also a couple of building events during the month of August. On the 1st, take your child to the LEGO store and participate in an event to build and decorate a LEGO Friends Jewelry Box. Another event is the Monthly Mini Model Build and this month is a flamingo.

New LEGO Polybags Revealed for 2013

There are quite a few new polybags that have been revealed that could be released this year. In the month of July, LEGO will be observing the summer season with a LEGO Creator Hot Dog Cart polybag (40078). VIPs will be able to get it FREE with purchases of $75 or more. There’s no word on how the other polybags will be distributed.

LEGO Creator Christmas Tree (30186) – will probably be available around the winter holiday season.
LEGO City Lawnmower (30224) – looks pretty interesting especially the front blades.
LEGO City Coast Guard Seaplane (30225) – another addition to the water area of the city.
Fall Scene (40057) – shows the clean up of falling leaves. A decent looking polybag with a pretty good piece count of 72 pieces.
Geoffrey the Giraffe (40077) – Toys R Us exclusive.
BMW (40200) – Not much information on this but is distributed in conjunction with the German company.

LEGO 2013 Summer Sets Now Available on Shop@Home

If you’ve been waiting for the LEGO Summer 2013 sets to be available, the wait is over. Quite a few sets from different themes have been released and are now available on Shop@Home. LEGO Castle makes their return in 2013 after the Kingdoms theme was discontinued last year. This year’s theme will feature the Blue Lion Knights versus the Red Dragon Knights.

New LEGO Battle Packs

There have been some new battle packs that have been showing up at LEGO stores which was first reported on Brickset by murphquake and jlbblue. These new battle packs include a Ninjago Accessory set (850632), a LEGO City Police Accessory set (850617), and a LEGO City Fire Accessory set (850618). All three of these packs retail for $14.99.

The Ninjago battle pack contains 36 pieces and includes Zane ZX, Jay ZX, a Stone Warrior, a Stone Scout, and a small weapons rack.

The Police battle pack has 34 pieces and contains four policemen and a dog. There is also a new metal detector piece with one of the officers.

The Fire battle pack has 43 pieces has three firemen/woman as well as the fire chief.
