Win a Collectible LEGO Xbox One Console from SDCC 2015

LEGO Marvel's Avengers Xbox One SDCC Collectible Console

For the past few years, Microsoft has had a big presence at San Diego Comic Con. This year they are holding a contest that may interest you and you don’t even have to attend SDCC. They have 20 different collectible Xbox One consoles that you can win including one featuring LEGO Marvel’s Avengers and another with LEGO Dimensions. Check out the official rules for more info.

There are three different ways to enter the contest:

1. Enter at San Diego Comic Con 2015.

Visit the Xbox Gaming Lounge at the Manchester Hyatt. Just take a picture of one of the custom consoles on display and Tweet or Instagram the photo with the hashtags #XboxSweepstakes and #SDCC. You also have to follow @Xbox on Twitter.

2. Enter through the Xbox Live Dashboard.

On July 9th, log on to Xbox Live from the Xbox One or Xbox 360 and look for the SDCC Collectible Console Sweepstakes.

3. Enter by Mail.

Hand print your name, address, phone number, email address, and date of birth on a 3″ x 5″ piece of paper and mail it in an envelope with proper postage to “Xbox Collectible Console Sweepstakes,” c/o HelloWorld, Inc., P.O. Box 5014, Department 820142, Kalamazoo, MI 49003-5014. You will
receive one (1) entry into the Collectible Console Sweepstakes. Limit: One (1) entry per envelope. All mail-in entries must be postmarked by July 13, 2015 and received by July 20, 2015.

LEGO Jurassic World Video Game – Jurassic Park III Playthrough

A few days ago, I finished the Jurassic Park III part of the LEGO Jurassic World video game and I finished uploading the VODs to YouTube. As part of the gameplay, I try to get the “True Survivor” status for each level and some of the minikits so I don’t have to go back and get it later. This playthrough is for the story mode only and I’ll go back to free play after I finish the Jurassic World part of the game. That part has been delayed a little because I haven’t had time to watch the movie yet so I don’t want any spoilers just yet. I do stream the game on Twitch so if you want to know when I go live, make sure you hit follow button on Twitch.

LEGO Minifigures Online Officially Launching June 29

The official press release for LEGO Minifigures Online has the details of the full launch as well as some new screenshots of the game. As I reported before, the game will be changing to a buy-to-play business model where you purchase the game first. If you have purchased anything with real money during the beta, your copy of the game will be upgraded to the full version so basically you get the game for free when it is launched next week.

LEGO Marvel’s Avengers Extended Gameplay Footage at E3

On the last day of E3, Arthur Parsons did one last interview today with IGN for LEGO Marvel’s Avengers and they showed off an extended demo gameplay of the game. Arthur noted that LEGO Marvel’s Avengers is a “celebration of Avengers” and there will be over 100 new characters that haven’t appeared before in LEGO games including Ulysses Klaw as well as possibly various comic book costumes. There’s not much more information than what we already knew but you can check out the video below.

LEGO Jurassic World Video Game – The Lost World: Jurassic Park Playthrough

I recently had some time to play more of LEGO Jurassic World and I was able to complete the story mode for The Lost World: Jurassic Park movie part of the game. I made some changes on how I uploaded the videos to YouTube from Twitch. Instead of just doing a long playthrough and uploading in 15 minute increments, I decided to upload the videos by the different scenes in the game. Again this is just the story mode so I haven’t collected everything I’m supposed to yet until I get to the free play mode which I’ll get to sometime in the future.

Ghostbusters Peter Venkman Minifigure Confirmed for LEGO Dimensions

A few weeks ago, I reported that there were some new licenses that were announced for LEGO Dimensions including Ghostbusters and Midway Arcades. At E3, it’s been confirmed that we’ll be getting a Ghostbusters Peter Venkman minifigure with a new hair pieces as well as some arm printing with the No Ghost patch. If you have the LEGO Ideas Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (21108), you would know that the minifigures in that set do not have any arm printing so it’s nice to see that the LEGO Dimensions version will have some. We’ll see in the near future if the other Ghostbusters members will also be included in Dimensions as well as the rumored Slimer minifigure.

LEGO Dimensions Star Wars Theme Not Happening Ever (No Surprise)

Earlier today, Disney vice president of of production John Vignocchi did an interview with IGN at E3 and he was asked if Star Wars was ever going to be in LEGO Dimensions and not surprisingly, the answer was an adamant no.

Don’t count on it.

Since Star Wars was announced to be released on Infinity 3.0 yesterday, it was pretty much guaranteed that the theme would not be coming to LEGO Dimensions. Vignocchi notes that “introducing Star Wars to LEGO Dimensions would cannibalize the Disney Infinity business. Good for everyone except Disney Infinity.” I pretty much said the same thing in April when I was speculating on possible LEGO Dimensions themes. Vignocchi also stated that the licensees of Infinity don’t want to mix franchises which is pretty much what LEGO Dimensions is doing.

With the exclusion of Star Wars as a theme for LEGO Dimensions, I really don’t see fans being that disappointed because Dimensions is already filled with many different characters from a lot of themes including some new ones like Portal 2, Wizard of Oz, and Doctor Who.

There have been readers who have asked the same question about Marvel being in LEGO Dimensions and the answer will probably be the same as Star Wars since Disney owns them as well.
