Reminder Two LEGO Events Happening Tomorrow May 17

Tomorrow will be a big day for LEGO as there will be two large events happening within a span of a few hours. First is the relaunch of the Ulysses Space Probe on the LEGO Rewards Center. For the US, it’ll be up at 6am PT/9am ET for 1,800 VIP points.

• Australian and New Zealand: 17th May 09:00am AEST / 11:00am NZST
• Korea: 17th May 09:00am KST
• Europe: 17th May 09:00am CEST / 08:00am BST
• United States and Canada: 17th May 09:00am EDT

The other event is the start of the BrickLink Designer Program round 3 crowdfunding. It’s a rush to see which five projects out of the nine will reach 3,000 pre-orders for them to be produced. This round will start at 10am PT and will run until the minimum thresholds are reached.

The promotions for the LEGO Ideas Cosmic Cardboard Adventures (40533) and Children’s Amusement Park (40529) are now live on the LEGO Shop. You can get the Amusement Park wih purchases of $90 and the Cardboard Adventures with purchases of $160, while supplies last. Both sets are able to stack which is pretty rare two larger GWPs and the promo will run until May 30. The promotion for the LEGO Ideas Cosmic Cardboard Adventures (40533) is now live on the LEGO Shop and here’s a quick review of the set. It has 203 pieces and you can get it with purchases of $160 or more until May 30, while supplies last.

The minifigure is a kid with a Galaxy Explorer shirt. He does have a double-sided head with a large smile on one side and a nervous expression on the other. He does wear a brown helmet.

There are two parts to the build. The first is a teddy bear mech that uses red and blue roller skates. The arms are carrying a ray gun and a whisk with some umbrellas in the back of the mech.

The main build is a section of the bedroom which has the cardboard rocket. The rocket actually looks really nice but it does have some stickers to give it more detailing. The side flaps uses a new piece that looks like a flap from a box. There are two seats in the rocket, one for the kid and one for the cat.

On the floor next to it, there are some additional accessories like a scissor, some green paint, some green army men, and a flag at the corner showing the Space Command Center (493).

Overall, the LEGO Ideas Cosmic Cardboard Adventures (40533) is a very nice promo set but the threshold to get it is a little high. Again, you can get it from now until May 30 with a $160 purchase.

Ever since the LEGO Store Calendars have went away, LEGO has done a terrible job in updating fans of upcoming promotions but here are the upcoming ones for the second half of May. First is the LEGO Ideas Cosmic Cardboard Adventures (40533) which you can get with purchases of $160 or more. The other promo set is the LEGO Children’s Amusement Park (40529) with purchases of $90. Both sets can stack and they will run from May 16-30 on the LEGO Shop and at LEGO Brand Stores, while supplies last.

LEGO Ideas Motorized Steampunk Skyship Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Motorized Steampunk Skyship by Castor-Troy is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The build features a fully modular ship consisting of 2,900 pieces and uses a motor to rotate the propellers. It also proposes seven minifigures as well.

The project now joins Lilo & Stitch: Beach House and Indiana Jones, Raiders of the Lost Ark – 40th Anniversary as the ones to reach the Second 2022 Review Stage.

BrickLink Designer Program Round 3 Crowdfunding Opens May 17

BrickLink has announced that Round 3 of crowdfunding for the BrickLink Designer Program will open on May 17 at 10:00am PT/7:00pm CET. For Round 3, there are nine final projects which you can check out below and prices range from $129.99 to $399.99. Like with the previous rounds, the first five projects to reach 3,000 pre-orders will be produced.

LEGO Ideas Cosmic Cardboard Adventures (40533) Revealed

LEGO has revealed the next promotion coming in May and it will be the LEGO Ideas Cosmic Cardboard Adventures (40533). The email doesn’t say when the promo starts but you’ll need to spend $160 to get it. The set was the winning build from the Out of This World building contest last year which garnered 2,869 votes.
