LEGO Ideas Medieval Blacksmith (21325) First Look

Amazon UK has revealed a first look of the upcoming LEGO Ideas Medieval Blacksmith (21325) on the Shop by Theme page. As you can see from the image above, the set still looks really good but it is changed quite drastically from the original project by Namirob. We’ve already reported that the set will be released in February and will be priced between $100-$180. If I were to guess the price by looking at the set now, it’ll probably be right in the middle.

LEGO Ideas Vintage Car (40448) Official Images

The product page for the upcoming LEGO Ideas Vintage Car (40448) is now live on the LEGO Shop and we can now see high quality images of the set. You’ll be able to get it free starting tomorrow with purchases of $85 or more until the end of the month or while supplies last. The set has 189 pieces and the design was from the LEGO Ideas vintage car building contest from last year.

LEGO Ideas Launches We Love Sports Building Contest

LEGO has kicked off a new sports related building contest over on LEGO Ideas called We Love Sports!. All you have to do is to build something that is sport oriented that is between 50 and 3,000 pieces and can’t be too related to official LEGO sports products. The Grand Prize Winner will get the following:

• A custom LEGO trophy
• All LEGO Ideas Products released in 2020:
• 21321 International Space Station
• 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay
• 21323 Grand Piano
• 21324 123 Sesame Street
• The next LEGO Ideas set to launch…to be revealed later
• LEGO Ideas tote bag

The deadline to enter is February 8 at 6am EST.

More LEGO Sets Added to Retiring Soon List

There are some new LEGO sets that have been revealed to be retiring soon according to some images from our local LEGO Brand Store. The oldest set on the list is the Assembly Square which was released back in 2017. Unfortunately, they are all temporarily out of stock on the LEGO Shop so the best chance to get them is at the LEGO Store at this point. Try using the Check Store Stock feature on the product pages to see if your local store has it in stock. Thanks to John for the heads up.

LEGO Ideas Viking Village Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Viking Village by BrickHammer is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The build is based on the actual history of the Vikings and some of the buildings you may find during that time including a blacksmith, main hall, temple, and watch tower. It also proposes three minifigures as well.

The project now joins the Boeing 737 Passenger Plane, Colosseum (Architecture Style), Gravity Falls: The Mystery Shack, Brick Town Police Station, , Red Dwarf Starbug, Avatar: The Last Airbender – YIP YIP!, Classic Castle, Open MRI, Motorized Lighthouse, Avatar: The Illuminated World of Pandora, Spirited Away, Jumanji of 1995, Auto Union Type C Racecar, Automated Garbage Truck, The Car Wash, Wallace & Gromit, Among Us: The Skeld, Roman Warship, The Addams Family Mystery Mansion, and GMC – Blue Chip 100 [1957] as the ones that have reached the Third 2020 Review Stage.

LEGO Ideas GMC – Blue Chip 100 [1957] Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The GMC – Blue Chip 100 [1957] by Ing-Manuel is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The build consists of a pair of pickup trucks made by General Motors in the Stepside and Fleetside versions. Each truck has about 1,150 pieces and they both have realistic features including a 347 V8 engine with transmission and exhaust pipes along with opening doors and hoods.

LEGO Ideas BrickLink Designer Program Project Speculation

Yesterday, LEGO announced that they will be working with BrickLink to produce LEGO Ideas projects that were made into official set. As of this writing, there are 44 non-IP projects that were not approved to become sets and that number jumps up to 60 if you count the ones that are currently in review. From the list, there were plenty of projects that fans wanted to be real sets but couldn’t and this upcoming program could finally allow it.

Information about the program is still mostly under wraps but more details will be coming early next year. Depending on when that is, it may or may not include the projects that are currently under review and will also depend on when LEGO announces the next wave of winner(s). Now that we know that only select non-IP projects will be under consideration, which ones do you want to purchase if it comes to the BrickLink AFOL Designer Program?
