LEGO Ideas National Park Service Centennial Vignettes Achieves 10,000 Supporters

Earlier today, the National Park Service Centennial Vignettes by LEGORanger16 has also achieved 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The project features small scenes on 10×16 plates which shows various US National Parks like the Everglades in Florida, Katmai in Alaska, and Saguaro in Arizona. This project seems to be a very educational set as it gets kids learning about some of the National Parks here in the US.

The National Park Service Centennial Vignettes is now in the Third 2015 Review Stage and joins other projects including Jurassic Park Explorer, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Nautilus, the Toyota Landcruiser 40 Series, the Beatles Yellow Submarine, the HMS Beagle, Apollo 11 Saturn-V, and the Concorde Display Set as the ones vying to become an official LEGO set.

LEGO Ideas Concorde Display Set Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Concorde Display Set by ABStract is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The project is based on the famous British/French airliner which was known as one of the fastest jets in aviation history. It was eventually retired in 2003 due to safety and budget issues. The Concorde project itself has many features like a working nose droop mechanism and moveable control surfaces.

The Concorde Display Set barely squeaks in to the Third 2015 Review Stage and it joins the Jurassic Park Explorer, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Nautilus, the Toyota Landcruiser 40 Series, the Beatles Yellow Submarine, the HMS Beagle, and Apollo 11 Saturn-V as the projects that have a chance of becoming an official LEGO set if it passes the Review Stage.

LEGO Ideas Third 2015 Review Deadline Approaching

The LEGO Ideas Third 2015 Review deadline for projects getting 10,000 supporters is coming to an end in a few a days. You have until midnight Monday, January 4, Billund time to gather supporters for a particular project. There are currently six projects that qualify for the Third 2015 Review Stage including the Jurassic Park Explorer, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Nautilus, the Toyota Landcruiser 40 Series, the Beatles Yellow Submarine, the HMS Beagle, and Apollo 11 Saturn-V with a couple more that could potentially join the fray if they get enough support.

Also if you haven’t seen yet, LEGO is doing a Creative Ideas Wanted campaign to get more original ideas on the site and for people to not rely on existing IPs for their projects. Just a little hint if you’re thinking of submitting your project on LEGO Ideas.

LEGO Ideas “Creative Ideas Wanted” Campaign

If you follow LEGO’s social media pages, you might have seen the image above and sort of a call to action post for LEGO Ideas. Over on their blog post, they’re kicking off a “Creative Ideas Wanted” campaign where they’re wanting people to submit original idea projects and not ones that are based on existing items.

We’ve seen a plethora of Ideas sets that have been released that are based on licensed properties and LEGO is pretty much looking for something original. The best original CUUSOO/Ideas set in my opinion is probably the Exo Suit because it was cool, very good playability, and most importantly not based on anything.

This is sort of a double-edged sword because people tend to go for licensed projects and non-licensed projects seem to fall by the wayside but it’s hard to get support if people don’t know nothing about it and the project doesn’t get exposure. I’ve tried to help promote projects back then but I’ve made a change earlier this year because I get so many requests for a post. It’s gotten to the point where I get a couple a day and if I continued what I did, the site would be nothing but Ideas projects. However, I don’t mind tweeting them out which I do now.

When you visit various LEGO fan sites and Facebook pages over the next month, there’s a good chance you will run into our “Creative Ideas Wanted” campaign. Kicking off on the 26th December and continuing until the end of January,
