LEGO Ninjago 2018 Pods Official Images

LEGO Ninjago Jay's Dojo Pod (853758)

Yesterday, I first reported on the new LEGO Ninjago Pods that are showing up at LEGOLAND California. Today, LEGO themselves has uploaded the official images of Jay’s Dojo Pod (853758) and Cole’s Dojo Pod (853759) to their servers which means that we’ll most likely see them available on Shop@Home in a few weeks. The pods are selling at LEGOLAND for $8.99 each so they’ll probably be at the same price on Shop@Home and at stores.

Like with Kai’s Dojo Pod (5004916), the front sticker is lenticular showing the Jay and Cole’s faces as well as their element while the inside has an armor rack with the kendo masks and their respective weapons as well as the minifigures with a new training outfit.

New LEGO Ninjago Pods Available at LEGOLAND California

The LEGO pods that have been released this year seem to be pretty popular and it looks like there will be some more coming soon. A Reddit user has found two more LEGO Ninjago pods that has showed up at LEGOLAND California. These new pods featuring Jay (853758) and Cole (853759) are now in cardboard packaging instead of a polybag like with Kai. THe builds include an armor rack along with their respective weapons.

Usually products that show up at LEGOLAND first will be available later at either LEGO Brand Stores/Shop@Home or other retailers like Toys R Us so we’ll see what happens with these two new Ninjago pods.

Rest of LEGO Toys R Us Bricktober 2017 Sets Revealed

Exclusive minifigures at Toys'R'Us

It looks like we have a look at the full line up for the Toys R Us Bricktober 2017 promotion thanks to BrickSamurai. I’ve already talked about the The LEGO Batman Movie (5004939) and the LEGO City Jungle Exploration (5004940) but we can now see the other two sets in the series.

There will be a generic minifigure series that includes a boxer, a hippie, a cheerleader, and a sailor. These minifigure don’t look that special as they are recolors of previous minifigures. The cheerleader looks to be the human form of the Zombie Cheerleader from the Series 14 Monsters Collectible Minifigures. This is listed as set #4 for of the series.

The other set based on LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu and not on The LEGO Ninjago Movie as previously rumored. The minifigures in this set include a white Nendroid, Neuro, Acronix, and Season 4 Rebooted version Kai, confirmed by Simon Lucas. This one is listed as the first set of the series.

Now that we’ve seen all of the Toys R Us Bricktober 2017 sets, the most interesting one is definitely the one for The LEGO Batman Movie. The other sets are fairly bland but the Ninjago one does look somewhat interesting. There’s no word on when Bricktober is here in the US but it’s usually in October so we have a few more weeks before we know the details.

LEGO Ninjago Showrunner Responds to Concerns for Season 8

LEGO NInjago Sons of Garmadon

Yesterday was the LEGO Ninjago TV series panel at SDCC 2017 and attendees were able to see a short clip of the Season 8 Sons of Garmadon. While I was live-tweeting, some fans had more questions that were answered at the panel while others were somewhat skeptical of what to expect. Showrunner Tommy Andreasen has taken to Twitter to give a response on some of the feedback. Here’s the transcribed version.

Hi All!

Thank you all for your responses to our season 8 sneak peak, revealed at San Diego Comic Con. Some of you have asked some questions or expressed concerns, so here is a response which hopefully will address most of them.

Season 8 of Ninjago is scheduled to come out in 2018. Though it may not be evident from the opening scene revealed at Comic Con, it is indeed the continuation of the TV series story line. It has been specifically written with a keen eye on what long time fans of the series have expressed desire to know more about.

One of Ninjago’s key strengths has always been it’s ability to change. We want each season to feel unique, and the show has a long history of twisting plots, structure and taking daring chances.

Several characters like Zane and Cole has had major updates during the series long run. Usually these changes happen within the episodes. This time however since time has passed since the end o Hands of Time, the changes are simply there. Where it may raise questions as you first

LEGO Ninjago SDCC 2017 Panel Recap

The LEGO Ninjago TV series panel was earlier today at San Diego Comic Con 2017 and there was some new information regarding Season 8. I was also live-tweeting the panel which can check out on Twitter.

The panel consisted of Writers Kevin and Dan Hageman, showrunner Tommy Andreasen, senior creative director Simon Lucas, IP lead Nelson Lamonica, and suprise guest David Shayne. The first thing the panel talked about was last season’s Hands of Time.

The first thing the panel talked about was some of the inner workings of the previous season. They showed off some concept art and talked about what the season was about.

They dug deeper into some of the villains who were involved including Sander Saunders, aka Krux, and the Vermillion. Like before, there are some prototypes of the Vermillion.

Next up is more concept art for the Kai and Nya’s Fusion Dragon. They explained that they wanted to make it look more organic.

Finally, there was the big question of where Wu is. We’ll find out more in Season 8. One cool thing that was touched on was some kids at last year’s panel gave some suggestions on how Zane got his powers and the Hagemans took those suggestions and we will be seeing them next season.

Finally, we have the opening sequence clip for Season 8. I didn’t record or take pictures as it technically wasn’t allowed but that didn’t stop some from doing it. Embedded below is the whole clip which you can watch before it gets taken … Continue
