LEGO San Diego Comic Con 2012 Press Release

LEGO has released their plans for this year’s San Diego Comic Con. There are many cool things to be revealed from different themes including Lord of the Rings, Super Heroes, Star Wars, and Ninjago. Below is the official press release.

-Surprises abound for fans as construction toy maker unveils new playsets, life-sized models, mystery builds, contests and one-of-a-kind giveaways in support of popular licensed properties-

SAN DIEGO, July 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON — LEGO Systems, Inc., the world’s leading construction toy manufacturer, unveils its largest ever San Diego Comic-Con presence with a “theme of the day” calendar of events that celebrates its top licensed properties including LEGO® THE LORD OF THE RINGS™ and LEGO THE HOBBIT™, LEGO Super Heroes, LEGO Star Wars™ and LEGO NINJAGO. LEGO Systems welcomes show attendees with displays of life-size models, first-ever “reveals” of LEGO building sets and limited edition giveaways. LEGO Ninjago & Man of Steel News

LEGO Community Coordinator Kevin Hinkle revealed that the LEGO Ninjago sets will be discountinued in 2013. However, there will be a Season 2 on Cartoon Network and will be at least one more wave coming out in 2013. Ninjago will be replaced by an unknown series but FBTB notes from Variety that Warner Brothers has a licencing agreement with LEGO to produce sets for the new Man of Steel movie. This is some awesome new because it adds more to to the Super Heroes line.
