LEGO Seasonal Iconic Easter 2018 (5005249) Review

LEGO Seasonal Iconic Easter 2018 (5005249)

It was only a few days ago that we saw the official image of the LEGO Seasonal Iconic Easter (5005249) minifigure and today we have a set in hand for an early review courtesy of BrickVibe. The minifigure follows a number of minifigures in this small promotional type box that we’ve seen before previously with the Easter Chicken (5004468), Gingerbread Man, and a larger Caveman & Cavewoman (5004936). At this time, there is no information on how it will be available at retail stores. All of the previous sets were available on LEGO Shop@Home at one point in time so it might show up on there sometime in the future.

There is a sleeve that comes off to show the details of the box. It shows a little house that is printed with some LEGO style flowers on the front and some egg painting on the back. The door opens up by punching out the perforation to reveal the Easter Bunny Guy who sits in a black container mold.

For the Easter Bunny Guy, he wears a light blue suit with a green striped shirt and a yellow bow tie. There’s also some partial printing of a bunny on the lower part of the torso. This is more clear with the printing of a bunny tail on the back of the torso. The legs are plain white to resemble the bunny legs.

LEGO Seasonal Iconic Easter 2018 (5005249) Official Image

LEGO Seasonal Iconic Easter 2018 (5005249)

Late last year, an image of the LEGO Seasonal Iconic Easter 2018 (5005249) surfaced online and now we have the official image of the set. Brickshop.nl has listed the set available starting in March but we’ll see if there is a promotion for it on Shop@Home when the March Store Calendar is available in a few weeks. The set basically consists of a minifigure with a new torso and a pair of bunny ears along with a paintbrush and an egg as accessories. Like before, the minifigure will come in a cardboard box.

For last year’s Iconic Easter (5004468) set, it was originally available for purchase at Toys R Us at the end of February and subsequently a promo at TRU. It eventually became an unannounced promotion on Shop@Home which only lasted for a few days.

I’ll let you guys know when it will become available and at what retailer as soon as there’s news about it.

LEGO Seasonal BrickHeadz Valentine’s Bee (40270) Review

LEGO Seasonal BrickHeadz Valentine's Bee (40270)

In previous years, LEGO has released various Seasonal sets for the holidays which included vignettes and brick-built characters. For 2018, that has changed dramatically as LEGO has incorporated the Seasonal sets into the LEGO BrickHeadz line. A few weeks ago, all of the 2018 LEGO Seasonal BrickHeadz were revealed including the one that is available starting today, the Valentine’s Bee (40270). It consists of 140 pieces and retails for $9.99.

LEGO Seasonal Year of the Dog (40235) Available in February in the US

LEGO Seasonal Year of the Dog (40235)

I have the February 2018 LEGO Store Calendar and one of the main promotions for the month is the LEGO Seasonal Year of the Dog (40235) set. Apparently for this year, it is not an Asian country exclusive as we will be able to get it from February 16-28 with a purchase of $88 or more, while supplies last. The Dog joins a number of previous animals that have been released that are from the Chinese zodiac.

Coincidentally, February 16 is Lunar New Year so it’s nice to see that LEGO has also decided to celebrate the event with this set here in the US. As for the purchase price of $88, the number 88 symbolizes fortune and good luck in Chinese culture. I am very looking forward to the LEGO Year of the Dog set as I am born on this zodiac animal and don’t have to resort to the secondary market to get a copy of it.

LEGO Seasonal Christmas Build Up (40253) – Day 24

LEGO Seasonal Christmas Build Up (40253)

For the final day of the LEGO Seasonal Christmas Build Up (40253), we have someone that is synonymous with the holiday but does it live up to expectations. The build is the jolly man himself but he looks very weird. I do like that the build uses a white croissant piece for the moustache but that’s about it. The face is able to swivel and he seems to be slumping over just a bit. It’s unfortunate that the last build for the set is somewhat of a letdown especially from yesterday’s build. It probably would’ve been better if they were switched.

I’ll have a wrap-up post about the LEGO Seasonal Christmas Build Up tomorrow to fully close out this set.

LEGO Seasonal Christmas Build Up (40253) – Day 23

LEGO Seasonal Christmas Build Up (40253)

In the second to last day of the LEGO Seasonal Christmas Build Up (40253), today’s model is probably the best one out of the set. For Day 23, we have a great looking Christmas tree. It’s a simple build that uses mostly slope pieces for the shape of the tree and it’s decorated with ornaments which are just a variety of translucent studs. The star also uses some trans-yellow studs as well. As I said earlier, this Christmas tree is the best build out of the set so far and it probably the best Christmas tree LEGO has released in general.

LEGO Seasonal Christmas Build Up (40253) – Day 22

LEGO Seasonal Christmas Build Up (40253)

The LEGO Seasonal Christmas Build Up (40253) is slowly coming to an end and for today’s build, we have something that most people want to receive during the holidays. For the Day 22 build, we have a couple of colorfully wrapped presents. It may seem that the presents are separated but they are actually connected by a 2×4 plate.
