LEGO Technic Top Gear Set Coming in 2020

LEGO has announced a new partnership with the hit BBC TV show Top Gear to produce a LEGO Technic Top Gear set that is set to be released in 2020. As you may remember, there was a rumor from many years ago that we could be getting Top Gear sets which ended up becoming the LEGO Speed Champions theme.

This new Technic set will be based on the BBC Two show starring Paddy McGuinness, Freddie Flintoff, and Chris Harris. BBC Studios Head of Licensing, Jason Easy, states, “It’s certainly a natural fit for both and we’re looking forward to seeing the LEGO Technic Set hit the shelves next year.”

There’s no word on whether we’ll get the three in minifigure form but considering that it’s a Technic set, it’ll probably just be a larger scale vehicle.

The set has 4,108 pieces and retails for $449.99 with a release date of October 1. LEGO Technic Liebherr R 9800 Excavator (42100) Official Images

After much delay, the official images of the upcoming LEGO Technic Liebherr R 9800 Excavator (42100) have now surfaced on German retailer Lucky Bricks. The set has 4,108 pieces and will retail for 449.99€ and will be available starting in October.

The Liebherr R 9800 Excavator was revealed way back at the Nuremberg Toy Fair but we first saw images of it at the Bauma convention in April. It will utilize the new CONTROL+ system that allows multiple functions to work at the same time using seven different motors.

We’re now a few days into August and I want to highlight the two LEGO Double VIP Point sets for the month. LEGO Batman Batmobile: Pursuit of The Joker (76119)

It’s August 1 and that means there are tons of new LEGO sets that are now available on LEGO Shop@Home. I didn’t really count but there are over 50 new sets ranging from the new Batman 80th Anniversary sets to the highly anticipated LEGO Hidden Side theme.

Remember there are some promotions going on at the beginning of the month. First is the free Reversible Tote Bag (5005910) with purchases of $200 or more.
