The LEGO Movie 2 Welcome to Apocalypseburg (70840) is back on sale again over at Walmart for about 27% off the regular price. Since all retailers are dumping stock on older LEGO sets, you can find some really good deals and it’s even better if they are direct-to-consumer sets since they don’t go on sale as often as the regular ones.

Obviously this is a great price for what you get in the set including four different colored space minifigures. The set might be retired by the end of the year so this is a significant deal for collectors and resellers.

Now that a report that The LEGO Movie 2 sets could be retiring sooner than expected, Amazon has dropped the price of a lot of the sets, some of which to the lowest its been on the site. We do get some that are the standard 20% off but there are a couple that are on sale upwards of 40% off.

The LEGO Movie 2 Sets Retiring Soon?

Here’s an interesting article about The LEGO Movie 2 sets that came through my email this morning. Online retailer ToyPro has posted that TLM2 sets could be retiring sooner than expected. As they are a retailer, they are able to order directly from LEGO and they asked there is something going on with the sets and LEGO responded with, “The movie sets will not come back as far as I know now due to disappointing resale.”

If you’ve been on LEGO Shop@Home and on Amazon, you would have noticed that a majority of The LEGO Movie 2 sets have been on sale for a few months now. Even the D2C Welcome to Apocalypseburg! (70840) has been discounted on Amazon. If you saw the post about the first half 2019 financial results, TLM2 didn’t even crack the top five selling themes on the list. Sets usually don’t go on sale on Shop@Home unless they are retiring soon so this could be an indication that they may be gone by the beginning of the year.

I’ve been told that Walmart has a great sale on The LEGO Movie 2 Welcome to Apocalypseburg! (70840) that’s even better than the one found before on Amazon. They currently have it on rollback for $219.99 which is the lowest price it’s been on either site. It also has free delivery as well as free pickup if you can get it on time. Amazon is back with another round of sales for The LEGO Movie 2 Welcome to Apocalypseburg! (70840). It is discounted 15% or $44.81 off which marks it down to only $255.18. As I have said many times before, direct-to-consumer sets usually aren’t discounted that much and when you find a deal, it is best to jump on it as it only lasts a very short time.

The LEGO Movie 2 Welcome to Apocalypseburg! (70840) is back on sale over on Amazon. It is currently priced at $266.85 for the Frustration-Free Packaging which is 11% off the regular price of $299.99. This deal isn’t as good as the one earlier this month but a deal is a deal on any D2C sets. Also keep in mind that various LEGO stores have sales on some of the older The LEGO Movie 2 sets to make way for some of the new stuff that is coming out in a few days.
