The LEGO Movie 2 Sets Retiring Soon?

Here’s an interesting article about The LEGO Movie 2 sets that came through my email this morning. Online retailer ToyPro has posted that TLM2 sets could be retiring sooner than expected. As they are a retailer, they are able to order directly from LEGO and they asked there is something going on with the sets and LEGO responded with, “The movie sets will not come back as far as I know now due to disappointing resale.”

If you’ve been on LEGO [email protected] and on Amazon, you would have noticed that a majority of The LEGO Movie 2 sets have been on sale for a few months now. Even the D2C Welcome to Apocalypseburg! (70840) has been discounted on Amazon. If you saw the post about the first half 2019 financial results, TLM2 didn’t even crack the top five selling themes on the list. Sets usually don’t go on sale on [email protected] unless they are retiring soon so this could be an indication that they may be gone by the beginning of the year.

Thanks to Edon for the heads up.
