LEGO City 2014 Trains Sale on Amazon

If you’re looking to get some of the older LEGO City train sets, Amazon has some pretty good deals on a couple of them. The High-speed Passenger Train (60051) is on sale for $82.39 which is a savings of 45% of the retail price of $149.99.

The other set is the Cargo Train (60052) which is listed at $133.79, a savings of 33% of the normal price of $199.99.

Both sets were released in 2014 so they will be retiring soon to make way for newer sets so now is a great time to pick them up if you’ve been holding off.

They are price matching Target, which both sold out this morning. But the Cargo Train was $112 at Target I think. I would love both of them, they are both really nice, but I’ll stick to my 9V train system. (As I have no money.) haha

But it’s not in stock, or available in 99% of the stores.

Well I would be surprised if these trains were being discontinued any time soon, fairly certain that trains typically last 3-4 years. What is interesting is that these are being discounted fairly heavily as of late. Hope it teaches LEGO a reason that they should not try to gouge the buyer for such sets. For even around 150 USD the Cargo train is a decent deal, but at 200 USD (RRP) it is ridiculous. The Passenger train is a great deal at 100, but probably would still be OK at 120 USD, but its listed RRP price of 149.99 USD is also ridiculous.
