Some interesting details have come out of Eurobricks from Just2Good regarding Series 13 of the LEGO Collectible Minifigures (71008). We already know that they will be coming out in January but there may be some hints of one of the minifigures that will be in the set.
As you can see above, there is a Director minifigure, which we haven’t had before, and Just2Good suggests that he could be from Series 13. The image was from the Toys R Us website and there is also another promotional artwork from taken at a Toys R Us store (below). Although it is still pretty early to speculate on who will be in Series 13 considering that Series 12 isn’t even out yet, it may seem that the Director could be new since almost everything on the minifigure is new such as the face printing, torso, and accessory.
There are also other minifigures in the images but they seem to be pretty plain and not unique enough, minus the Tiki Warrior from Series 11, to be one of the special ones to be included Series 13. What do you guys think? Could Toys R Us have inadvertently revealed a minifigure from the Series 13 LEGO Collectible Minifigures (71008)? We will soon see as more details of the 2015 sets slowly come out in the next few months.

Makes me want to already know what minifigs series 13 will have. I hope we see a lot more leg printing in series 13.
To most people these appearances of Minifigures in the LEGO aisles may bring joy for what can come in the future collectible minifigure series 13. To me? This is nothing new and nothing promising new information. I’m honestly upset that this speculation is highlighted as news, for it is only a rumor.
For several years, LEGO has made decorations such as these displaying Minifigures of new and unique designs. Even in magazines we have seen interesting ads for LEGOLand, featuring Minifigures that have not been made and may never be made.bdeapite the recent “discovery” of these figures on display by Just2Good, I’ve seen these throughout the whole 2014 year on the Toys R Us website, thus making the reveal of these designs not too recent.
To further my claim that the Director minifigure isn’t new news, I received interesting information from Bricks On The Dollar (Clutch) when discussing this topic. He showed me a 2010 edition of a LEGO publication which discusses an interview about The LEGO Movie. On the outskirts of the page, the Director minifigure is shown. 2010! Had the image been more visible then, some wouldn’t speculate this image, but the publication was an insider magazine, available to select member of the LEGO community.
I really am disappointed that this is represented as a news article. The director has been proven as just being a designer image, and if it was generated in 2010, would it not be a minifigure by now? If you search LEGO magazines today as well as the websites for LEGO and Toys R Us (LEGO section), one can find Minifigures that were not made into physical toys. It’s nothing new of LEGO to do this. It’s happened for years. Therefore it makes the chances very unlikely for series 13 leaks from this store aisle decoration.
