If you saw my post about the July 2017 LEGO Store Calendar, VIPs will be getting early access to an exclusive set and it looks like we may know what it is. Hoth Bricks is reporting that the D2C set will be the LEGO Creator Double Decker Bus (10258). The bus will be a larger version of the London Bus (40220) which we got last year.
If this rumor is true, it continues a trend of having regular sets as well as a smaller promotion set of the same vehicle. We first saw this with the Volkswagen T1 Camper Van (10220) with the mini 40079 set then with the Volkswagen Beetle (10252) with the smaller 40252 version.
If the LEGO Creator Double Decker Bus (10258) is indeed coming out in July for VIPs, we should expect official images and the designer video in the next few weeks.
Update: The LEGO Creator London Bus (10258) has been officially announced. You can check out the details in my other post.

It doesn’t sound like this bus will be Minifigure-scale, will it?
Probably not. I actually did build one five years ago. I did the basic design on LDraw while watching a recording of the 2012 London closing ceremonies. The bus is 8-wide, runs over 500pcs, seats around 14 minifigs (more, if you rip some arms off), and was an absolute pain to research. See, I was able to identify at least two generations of the old style Routemaster double-decker busses (not counting ones with an open-air upper deck), based on differences in which passenger windows open and which are single-pane, and seating arrangements (some do forward-facing upper decks like school busses, and others have benches running along the walls like some subway cars). The problem is, nobody did comprehensive photos of any single bus, so matching up left view with right view with interior view was the hardest part of the whole process. I eventually did find an interior shot that showed enough of the passenger windows that I was able to eliminate the subway-style busses and just had to assume that what remained were the school bus style I wanted to base mine on.
All told, mine carries 16.5 minifigs and a horse. Besides the half-driver (there wasn’t room for a full minifig) and the conductor (sometimes referred to as a “clippie”), I tweaked the nine Team GB minifigs to represent actual Team GB Olympians who competed in London (hence the horse), plus I added Sherlock, Shakespeare, a Queen’s Guard, a Bobbie, and custom minifigs of Wallace & Grommit. I planned to add Lester to the one open seat, but prices were way too ridiculous for me to try to snag one.
