I few days ago at San Diego Comic Con 2015, a very good friend by the name of Ryan surprised me with one of the exclusive LEGO sets that were sold, the LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Action Comics #1 Superman. I’m very grateful because I wasn’t able to pick up the set Thursday morning. Here I’m doing something that LEGO collectors and reseller will probably hate but people who weren’t able to get the set at SDCC or general LEGO fans will appreciate. I’ve opened the set and have provided every with instructions on how to build your own version of Action Comics #1.
Included with the instructions are the parts list so you can BrickLink the parts you need. Most of the parts are pretty common but there are some that have just been released and pretty rare at this time including the yellow 1×1 plate with clip 6071270, the yellow 6L bar 6109813, the dark green modified brick with curved top 6100223, and the front grill 6021687. The only brand new piece is the dark green roof 6135573 so you may have to find a substitute until that piece is more widely available. Superman is the same one we’ve had before. You can check out the full review of the set here.
Below are the images of the steps to create the set but if it’s too small, head on over to my Flickr album and you can check out larger images of them.
Update: After many, many, many requests, I have also included a PDF which you can download and use at your leisure.

Ouch, you opened it!
I’m a LEGO fan, I don’t care much for reselling it or whatnot. I like to enjoy things I receive, especially if it’s from a friend who gave it to me. I don’t think he would’ve wanted it to be sealed up somewhere in my closet.
I know, it is just tramatic when these are opened. 🙂 Thanks for doing this. They were neat to see.
You rock!!
Can you add the instructions also of the marvel set?
In due time.
I’ll NEVER understand the mentality of keeping toys boxed up.
If I buy a toy it’s for me to enjoy.
If I want to invest, I’ll buy stock.
I love to see people who actually ENJOY and PLAY with their toys as opposed to using them as investments.
So kudos to you and thanks for posting the instructions for those of us who could not get one!
any suggestion for replace this part “6135573”^^
How much would it cost to order these pieces from BrickLink?
Someone on Brickset forums did an order for $30 with the different roof piece.
Really I am trying to buy all of the parts so I can make one could you send me a link to his shopping cart if you can thank you so much!
Thanks – its really interesting 🙂
i’m trying to understand the rationale of the design of this set. Why is there a green colour round piece on the floor?
