Back in June, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced some new licenses coming to LEGO Dimensions including Ghostbusters and Midway Arcade. There’s now a new image of the Starter Pack (71173) which shows the full lineup of minifigures for the Level Packs, Team Packs, and Fun Packs including minifigure for the Midway Arcade Expansion Pack (71235). The image shows some sort of gamer character wearing a green shirt with a black jacket. His accessories include a soda and what looks to be a coin. Thanks to CM4Sci on Eurobricks for the heads up.

Meh. Kind of mixed on this. It would’ve been cool to have Scorpion or something but this is a kids game so yeah.
They’re probably saving him for an entire MK world. They’re also including the Simpsons so they clearly aren’t using a “kidz only” rule when deciding characters. That show has had rape, murder, drunk people and blood even in it’s golden years.
Excellent find! Thanks to CM4Sci again. Judging by the coin in the gamer’s hand, I think we’re getting a collection of Midway arcade games in one pack. Maybe it’ll include brick-built versions of the game’s characters!
Also, looking back to the original trailer, I considered the games in the arcade cabinets as possible playable games on Dimensions: Defender and Robotron2084, thanks to BrickTsar and BigBBricks for helping me identify them.
It’s not far-fetched, since the first trailer revealed many themes to be discovered later for the level and fun packs such as Simpsons and Ghostbusters.
I kind of thought The Wizard of Oz would have a better presence. I’m disappointed that the Wicked Witch is the only Mini-Figure.
I suspect they might show up next year.
What is 71238? Has there been a clue I missed?
Doctor Who Cyberman Fun Pack. It was revealed last month. http://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-dimensions-doctor-who-gameplay/
Dang it. I was so expecting Paperboy to be Midway’s contribution to Dimensions.
He could still be in it, who says he just simply isn’t on the box?
It could be a level pack with a Paperboy level.
Do you guys think there’s going to be more figures then this? I kind of don’t think so, like skylanders, what ever is on the poster/box is what’s coming out, unless they release LD2 which is probably a possibility.
I have no doubt there will be new characters. Skylanders always adds new characters. And Disney Infinity has its Marvel 2.0 and Star Wars 3.0.
This game will continue to expand over the years without sequels, just ports. They’ll continue to release new figure and expansion packs for atleast 2 more generations, and these aren’t even half of them.
Not to mention that with franchises like Doctor Who and DC Comics, there’s infinite potential with the variety of characters they can have. With the first four waves, they appear to be only touching the surface.
I wish Christopher Eccleston was recording new lines as the 9th Doctor because imagine his Doctor’s reaction to the Midway Arcade gamer.
9th Doctor: You lot. There’s an alien invasion out there and you just sit playing games and drinking cans of soda!
